Relación del índice de alanina aminotransferasa/colesterol-HDL en pacientes adultos con o sin hiperglicemia en un laboratorio clínico, 2026

Abstract

La diabetes mellitus es una enfermedad caracterizada por la hiperglicemia que puede causar complicaciones en los diferentes órganos del cuerpo humano. Objetivo: Relacionar el índice de alanina aminotransferasa (ALT)/colesterol HDL en pacientes adultos con o sin hiperglicemia en un Laboratorio Clínico, 2026. Metodología: La investigación es hipotético-deductivo, cuantitativo y no experimental. Se evaluó a 124 pacientes adultos que tuvieron los análisis de glucosa, ALT y HDL-C en pacientes con o sin hiperglicemia y se halló ALT/HDL-C. Resultados: Se hallaron 113 paciente sin hiperglicemia y 11 pacientes con hiperglicemia. Además, la mediana de ALT/HDL-C fue 0,83 y 1,61 para pacientes sin hiperglicemia y con hiperglicemia respectivamente. Además, la correlación de Spearman fue 0,05 y -0,66 para pacientes sin hiperglicemia y con hiperglicemia respectivamente. Asimismo, su p-valor fue 0,007 en relación a los grupos de pacientes con o sin hiperglicemia. Conclusión: La relación de ALT/HDL-C y la hiperglicemia tiene una relación inversa, esto indica que el índice de ALT/HDL-C es significativamente mayor en presencia de alteración glucémica. Por lo tanto, este índice puede servir como herramienta complementaria en la detección temprana de síndrome metabólico con respecto a la diabetes mellitus.

Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by hyperglycemia, which can cause complications in various organs of the human body. Objective: To determine the relationship between the alanine aminotransferase (ALT)/HDL cholesterol ratio in adult patients with and without hyperglycemia in a clinical laboratory in 2026. Methodology: This was a hypothetical deductive, quantitative, and non-experimental study. One hundred and twenty-four adult patients underwent glucose, ALT, and HDL cholesterol analyses, with and without hyperglycemia, and the ALT/HDL cholesterol ratio was calculated. Results: One hundred and thirteen patients were found to have no hyperglycemia, and eleven patients had hyperglycemia. The median ALT/HDL cholesterol ratio was 0.83 and 1.61 for patients without and with hyperglycemia, respectively. Spearman's rank correlation coefficient was 0.05 and -0.66 for patients without and with hyperglycemia, respectively. Furthermore, its p-value was 0.007 in relation to the groups of patients with and without hyperglycemia. Conclusion: The ALT/HDL C ratio and hyperglycemia are inversely related, indicating that the ALT/HDL-C ratio is significantly higher in the presence of impaired glucose tolerance. Therefore, this index can serve as a complementary tool in the early detection of metabolic syndrome in relation to diabetes mellitus.
