Calidad de sueño e incapacidad funcional en enfermeras con dolor lumbar en un Hospital de Lima-2024

Abstract

El estudio planteó como objetivo, determinar la relación entre calidad de sueño e incapacidad funcional en enfermeras con dolor lumbar en un hospital de Lima – 2024. La metodología fue cuantitativa, correlacional, observacional y de corte transversal. La muestra estuvo constituida por 102 enfermeras con dolor lumbar. Para la medición de las variables se utilizó el Cuestionario de Calidad de Sueño de Pittsburgh y el Test de Discapacidad Oswestry. En los resultados se evidenció que, con respecto a la calidad del sueño, el 51% de los participantes requerían atención y tratamiento médico y con respecto a la incapacidad funcional, el 87,3% lo presentaba de forma leve, indicando que podían realizar actividades diarias, pero con limitaciones. A su vez, el 59,8% había experimentado dolor lumbar por más de tres meses. Se concluyó que existe una fuerte y positiva correlación entre la calidad del sueño y la incapacidad funcional en enfermeras con dolor lumbar (p<0,05), hallazgos que resaltan la necesidad de abordar los problemas de sueño para mejorar la salud y el rendimiento laboral de las enfermeras.

The objective of the study was to determine the relationship between sleep quality and functional disability in nurses with low back pain in a hospital in Lima - 2024. The methodology was quantitative, correlational, observational and cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 102 nurses with low back pain. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Questionnaire and the Oswestry Disability Test were used to measure the variables. The results showed that, with respect to sleep quality, 51% of the participants required medical attention and treatment, and with respect to functional disability, 87.3% presented a mild form, indicating that they could perform daily activities, but with limitations. In turn, 59.8% had experienced low back pain for more than three months. It was concluded that there is a strong and positive correlation between sleep quality and functional disability in nurses with low back pain (p<0.05), findings that highlight the need to address sleep problems to improve the health and work performance of nurses.
