Conocimiento y actitud de los padres frente a la quimioterapia en niños con cáncer de un hospital de Lima, 2025

Abstract

El cáncer está generando un impacto mundial considerable y cada año va en aumento. Así, los niños y adolescentes con cáncer los cuales reciben quimioterapia, experimentan múltiples síntomas físicos y psicológicos como consecuencia de su enfermedad y su tratamiento interfiriendo consecuentemente en su calidad de vida. Por ello este trabajo tiene como propósito “Determinar la relación entre el conocimiento y la actitud de los padres frente a la quimioterapia en niños con cáncer de un Hospital de Lima”. Se usó el método hipotético-deductivo, que es de enfoque cuantitativo, se empleó un tipo aplicado, no experimental y transversal, con alcance correlacional. La población estaba compuesta por 80 padres de niños que están en tratamiento con quimioterapia. Se emplearán encuestas como técnica y cuestionarios como instrumentos para evaluar el conocimiento y la actitud de los padres. Para el análisis descriptivo, se emplearán porcentajes, frecuencias y tablas de doble entrada; para establecer las hipótesis, se utilizarán pruebas paramétricas (correlación de Pearson) o no paramétricas (Rho de Spearman).

The incidence of cancer is rising annually and has a significant worldwide impact. Therefore, as a result of their illness and its treatment, children and adolescents with cancer who get chemotherapy suffer from a variety of physical and psychological symptoms that negatively impact their quality of life. Thus, the goal of this study is to ascertain how parents' attitudes and knowledge about chemotherapy relate to children with cancer in a Lima hospital. In the methodology applied type, quantitative approach, hypothetical-deductive method, cross-sectional and correlational scope, non-experimental design, and population of 80 parents of children undergoing chemotherapy. As a technique, surveys will be used and the instruments will be questionnaires to measure knowledge and another to measure the attitude of parents. Double entry tables, percentages, and frequencies will be employed for the descriptive analysis, and parametric tests (Pearson correlation) or non parametric tests (Spearman's Rho) will be used to ascertain the hypothesis.
