Calidad del Cuidado enfermero y su relación con los eventos adversos de los pacientes hospitalizados en Unidad de Cuidados Intermedios (UCIN) en un hospital privado Lima 2025

Abstract

La calidad del cuidado enfermero es un componente fundamental en la seguridad del paciente, especialmente en unidades críticas como la Unidad de Cuidados Intermedios (UCIN). En este contexto, los eventos adversos representan un desafío importante que puede estar vinculado directamente con los cuidados de enfermería. En la UCIN de un hospital Privado en Lima, se hacen esfuerzos para reducir la frecuencia de incidentes mediante el progreso de una calidad en el cuidado. La mayoría de estos efectos desfavorables asociados con medicamentos resultan de errores en la administración o de reacciones adversas de tipo A. Objetivo: Analizar lacorrelacion existente entre la calidad de atencion enfermera y la presencia de eventos adversos en pacientes ingresados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intermedios (UCIN) en un hospital privado en Lima 2025. Métodos: Esta investigación es de tipo cuantitativo, estudio correlacional y de diseño no experimental. Se utilizará una muestra probabilística de 80 pacientes que se encuentren internados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intermedios de un hospital privado. Los instrumentos de recolección de datos incluyen un cuestionario estructurado tipo Likert de cuidados de enfermería y una ficha de eventos adversos, utilizando el formato de categorización de reporte de incidentes adversos. Se aplicarán pruebas estadísticas, como la correlación de Spearman, para evaluar la relación entre ambas variables, con un nivel de significancia de p < 0.05, y el análisis se realizará utilizando el programa IBM SPSS 25.

Introduction: The quality of nursing care is a fundamental component in patient safety, especially in critical units such as the Intermediate Care Unit (ICU). In this context, adverse events represent an important challenge that can be directly linked to the care provided by the nursing staff. In the NICU of a private hospital in Lima, efforts are made to reduce the frequency of incidents by advancing quality of care. Most of these unfavorable effects associated with medications result from administration errors or type A adverse reactions. Objective: To analyze the correlation between the quality of nursing care and the presence of adverse events in patients admtted to the Intermediate Care Unit in a private hospital in Lima 2025. Methods: This research is a quantitative, correlational and non-experimental design. A probability sample of 80 patients admitted to the Intermediate Care Unit of a private hospital will be used. The data collection instruments include a structured Likert-type nursing care questionnaire and an adverse events form, using the adverse incident report categorization format. Statistical tests, such as Spearman's correlation, will be applied to evaluate the relationship between the two variables, with a significance level of p < 0.05, and the analysis will be performed using the IBM SPSS 25 program.
