Intervención fisioterapéutica en el dolor y rango articular en pacientes con síndrome del manguito rotador en una posta de Lima-2025

Abstract

A nivel mundial, el dolor de hombro representa el tercer motivo más frecuente de dolor musculoesquelético, siendo el síndrome del manguito rotador la afección más común y posiblemente responsable de hasta el 70 % de todas las consultas médicas. Esta condición afecta negativamente el uso de las extremidades superiores, resultando incapacitante y perjudicando la calidad de vida. El objetivo del estudio es determinar el efecto de un programa de intervención terapéutica en el dolor y rango de movimiento en pacientes con síndrome del manguito rotador. Materiales y métodos: estudio de método hipotético-deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, diseño cuasiexperimental longitudinal y tipo aplicativo, con mediciones pretest y postest y grupo control. La población prevista es de 52 individuos diagnosticados con síndrome del manguito rotador; la muestra será censal con quienes cumplan los criterios establecidos. El grupo experimental recibirá un programa de intervención de terapia manual más ejercicio terapéutico, y el grupo control seguirá terapia convencional (TENS, termoterapia y masoterapia). Las variables de resultado serán la intensidad del dolor (Escala Numérica Análoga del Dolor) y el rango de movimiento (goniometría). Finalmente, el análisis incluirá estadística descriptiva, prueba de Kolmogorov-Smirnov para normalidad y, según corresponda, pruebas paramétricas o no paramétricas.

Globally, shoulder pain is the third most frequent cause of musculoskeletal pain, with rotator cuff syndrome being the most common condition and possibly responsible for up to 70% of all medical consultations. This condition negatively affects the use of the upper extremities, resulting in disability and impairing quality of life. The objective of this study is to determine the effect of a therapeutic intervention program on pain and range of motion in patients with rotator cuff syndrome. Materials and methods: This is a hypothetical-deductive study with a quantitative approach, a longitudinal quasi-experimental design, and an applied approach, with pre-test and post-test measurements and a control group. The target population is 52 individuals diagnosed with rotator cuff syndrome; the sample will be a census of all those who meet the established criteria. The experimental group will receive a manual therapy intervention program plus therapeutic exercise, and the control group will continue with conventional therapy (TENS, thermotherapy, and massage therapy). The outcome variables will be pain intensity (Numerical Analog Scale for Pain) and range of motion (goniometry). Finally, the analysis will include descriptive statistics, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for normality, and, as appropriate, parametric or non-parametric tests.
