Conocimiento y actitudes sobre inmunización en madres de niños menores de cinco años atendidos en un centro de salud de Lima, 2024

Abstract

Objetivo: La investigación analizó el vínculo existente entre el nivel de conocimiento y la actitud que tienen las madres de niños menores de cinco años respecto a la inmunización. Método: La investigación bajo el método hipotético-deductivo, cuantitativa, no experimental, transeccional y correlacional. Población de 108 madres de niños menores de cinco años, se extrajo una muestra de 85 participantes. Se utilizaron dos instrumentos, cuestionario "Conocimiento de las madres sobre inmunización" y cuestionario “Actitudes de las madres sobre inmunización”. Resultados: Los principales resultados mostraron que el 63,5% de las madres con niños menores de cinco años registran un alto nivel de conocimiento sobre inmunización y el 36,5% nivel medio; en cuanto a la actitud de las madres sobre inmunización, se observó que el 65,9% tienen una actitud favorable sobre inmunización, y el 34,1% una actitud indiferente. Conclusiones: Se determina relación entre conocimiento y actitud sobre inmunización (Rho Spearman = 0,964; p = 0,000), esto quiere decir que un nivel alto de conocimiento implica una actitud favorable sobre inmunización en las progenitoras; respecto a las dimensiones del conocimiento sobre inmunización con la actitud de las progenitoras, se identifica relación entre la dimensión conductual de la actitud sobre inmunización (Rho Spearman = 0,790; p = 0,000), dimensión cognitiva de la actitud sobre inmunización (Rho Spearman = 0,857; p = 0,000) y la dimensión afectiva de la actitud sobre inmunización (Rho Spearman = 0,843; p = 0,000).

Objective: The study analyzed the link between the level of knowledge and attitude of mothers of children under five years of age regarding immunization. Method: The study used a hypothetical-deductive, quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational method. A sample of 85 participants was extracted from a population of 108 mothers of children under five years of age. Two instruments were used: a questionnaire on “Mothers' knowledge about immunization” and a questionnaire on “Mothers' attitudes toward immunization.” Results: The main results showed that 63.5% of mothers with children under five years of age had a high level of knowledge about immunization and 36.5% had an average level. Regarding mothers' attitudes toward immunization, 65.9% had a favorable attitude toward immunization, and 34.1% had an indifferent attitude. Conclusions: A relationship was found between knowledge and attitude toward immunization (Spearman's Rho = 0.964; p = 0.000), which means that a high level of knowledge implies a favorable attitude toward immunization in mothers. Regarding the dimensions of knowledge about immunization and the mothers' attitudes, a relationship was identified between the behavioral dimension of the attitude toward immunization (Rho Spearman = 0.790; p = 0.000), the cognitive dimension of the attitude towards immunization (Rho Spearman = 0.857; p = 0.000), and the affective dimension of the attitude towards immunization (Rho Spearman = 0.843; p = 0.000).
