Introducción: Los profesionales de enfermería, ejecutan funciones asistenciales en Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales, deben tener un bagaje extenso y completo de conocimientos, además de poseer destrezas y métodos, que utilizan y brindar los cuidados con eficiencia y calidad, conveniente con las normas de enfermería. Además, debe mostrar una actitud proactiva e innovadora para adoptar métodos que fortalezcan sus conocimientos, pero que también, favorezcan el desarrollo y cuidados óptimos de nuestros neonatos, en especial los prematuros, por tal motivo una opción de bajo costo pero con un sin fin de beneficios, tanto el neonato y la madre, este método Canguro, es calificado de manera alternativa de atención segura, que no tan solo aumenta la sobrevida del neonato prematuro, sino que mejora calidad de vida con una óptima relación costo beneficio. Asimismo, brinda a la profesional en enfermería, la oportunidad de adquirir nuevas destrezas a través del uso de alternativas que le ofrezcan actualizarse en la práctica asistencial y en el cuidado adecuado del neonato. Objetivo: Determinar la relación existente entre conocimiento y actitud del profesional de enfermería hacia el método Madre Canguro en prematuros del hospital público del Ecuador. Metodología: El trabajo investigativo será descriptivo, no experimental y utilizará métodos cuantitativos. La muestra está establecida por 80 profesionales de enfermería, se utilizará como técnica la encuesta y se utilizarán dos herramientas: cuestionario y la guía de observación que cuentan con validez y confiabilidad para su aplicación.
Resumen
Introduction: Nursing professionals, who perform care functions in Neonatal Intensive Care, must have an extensive and complete background of knowledge, in addition to possessing skills and methods, which they use and provide care with efficiency and quality, consistent with nursing standards. In addition, you must show a proactive and innovative attitude to adopt methods that strengthen your knowledge, but also favor the optimal development and care of our neonates, especially premature ones, for this reason a low-cost option but with endless benefits. benefits, both for the neonate and the mother, this Kangaroo method is described as an alternative way of safe care, which not only increases the survival of the premature neonate, but also improves quality of life with an optimal cost-benefit ratio. Likewise, it provides the nursing professional with the opportunity to acquire new skills through the use of alternatives that offer updating in healthcare practice and adequate care of the newborn. Objective: Determine the relationship between knowledge and attitude of the nursing professional towards the Kangaroo Mother method in premature infants in the public hospital of Ecuador. Methodology: The research work will be descriptive, non-experimental and will use quantitative methods. The sample is established by 80 nursing professionals, the survey will be used as a technique and two tools will be used: questionnaire and the observation guide that have validity and reliability for their application.
