Factores asociados al abandono del control prenatal en gestantes del establecimiento de salud I-4 Chorrillos - Lima, 2024

Abstract

El objetivo del presente estudio fue estudiar los factores que influyen en el abandono del control prenatal en mujeres atendidas en el establecimiento de salud I-4 Chorrillos. Metodológicamente, el estudio tuvo un diseño observacional, de tipo retrospectivo, nivel correlacional, considerando una muestra conformada por 120 historias clínicas de gestantes que iniciaron su control prenatal en el establecimiento de salud I-4 Chorrillos durante el año 2024. Los datos se recogieron con ayuda de una ficha de recolección conformada por 16 ítems elaborada por la autora específicamente para esta investigación. Los resultados evidenciaron que los factores sociodemográficos que alcanzaron valor significativo en cuanto al número de CPN abandonados fue la distancia en que se encuentra el establecimiento de salud de su domicilio (p=0.034) y en relación al momento (I, II o III trimestre) en que ocurrió el abandono del CPN se identificó asociación significativa con la edad con un (p=0.036); los factores obstétricos con valor significativo en cuanto al número de CPN abandonados, fueron la edad gestacional del primer control prenatal de la gestante (p-valor=0.008), así como el embarazo no planificado (p-=0.012) respecto al momento (I, II o III trimestre) en que ocurrió el abandono del CPN se identificó también la asociación significativa con la edad gestacional del primer control prenatal de la gestante (p-valor=0.000) y el embarazo planificado (p=0.016). Para el caso de los factores clínicos se encontró valor significativo menor de 0,05 en el caso de las complicaciones durante el embarazo respecto al número de CPN abandonados(p=0.000). Se concluye que existen factores sociodemográficos, obstétricos y clínicos asociados significativamente al abandono del control prenatal en gestantes del establecimiento de salud I-4 Chorrillos - Lima, 2024.

The objective of this study was to examine the factors that influence the abandonment of prenatal care among women treated at the I-4 Chorrillos health facility. Methodologically, the study had an observational, retrospective, correlational design, considering a sample consisting of 120 medical records of pregnant women who began their prenatal care at the I-4 Chorrillos health facility during the year 2024. Data were collected using a 16 item data collection form developed by the author specifically for this research. The results showed that the sociodemographic factors that were significantly associated with the number of abandoned ANCs were the distance of the health facility from the mother's home (p=0.034), and the timing (first, second, or third trimester) of ANC abandonment. A significant association was identified with age (p=0.036). The obstetric factors with significant associations with the number of abandoned ANCs were the gestational age at the pregnant woman's first prenatal checkup (p=0.008) and unplanned pregnancy (p=0.012). Regarding the timing (first, second, or third trimester) of ANC abandonment, a significant association was also identified with the gestational age at the pregnant woman's first prenatal checkup (p=0.000) and planned pregnancy (p=0.016). In the case of clinical factors, a significant value of less than 0.05 was found for complications during pregnancy relative to the number of abandoned prenatal care (p=0.000). It is concluded that sociodemographic, obstetric, and clinical factors are significantly associated with the abandonment of prenatal care in pregnant women at the I-4 Chorrillos health facility in Lima, 2024.
