Riesgo atribuible de las complicaciones obstétricas asociadas a la obesidad en gestantes durante el embarazo

Abstract

Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar el riesgo atribuible de las complicaciones obstétricas vinculadas a la obesidad en gestantes durante el embarazo. La metodología que se empleó fue el método hipotético-deductivo con un enfoque cuantitativo, ya que se realizaron mediciones de las variables a través de técnicas estadísticas. La muestra estuvo conformada por 94 gestantes. Se llevó a cabo el análisis estadístico correspondiente, aplicándose la prueba Chi-cuadrado para contrastar la hipótesis planteada y el riesgo atribuible poblacional para medir el impacto, así como el Odds Ratio como medidas de asociación. Los resultados obtenidos indicaron que, de las 52 gestantes con obesidad, 57% presentaron complicaciones obstétricas, en cambio, entre las 46 gestantes sin obesidad, 32% de ellas la tuvieron. El riesgo atribuible fue 56%, lo que nos indica el impacto de la obesidad en las complicaciones obstétricas, si logramos eliminar el factor de riesgo, en este caso la obesidad podemos disminuir las complicaciones obstétricas en un 56%. Así mismo obtuvimos un OR de 2.3 lo que indica que las gestantes con obesidad tienen 2.3 veces más riesgo de presentar complicaciones obstétricas en comparación con las gestantes sin obesidad. Dado que el valor p (0.043) fue inferior al nivel de significancia estadística establecido (α = 0.05), se concluyó una asociación estadísticamente significativa entre las variables analizadas. Conclusión la obesidad en las gestantes se relacionó de manera significativa con la aparición de complicaciones obstétricas.

The objective of this research was to determine the attributable risk of obstetric complications related to obesity in pregnant women during pregnancy. The methodology used was the hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative approach, since the variables were measured by means of statistical techniques. The sample consisted of 94 pregnant women. The corresponding statistical analysis was carried out, applying the Chi square test to contrast the hypothesis proposed and the population attributable risk to measure the impact, as well as the Odds Ratio as measures of association. The results obtained indicated that, of the 52 pregnant women with obesity, 57% presented obstetric complications, while among the 46 pregnant women without obesity, 32% of them did. The attributable risk was 56%, which indicates the impact of obesity on obstetric complications. If we manage to eliminate the risk factor, in this case obesity, we can reduce obstetric complications by 56%. We also obtained an OR of 2.3, indicating that obese pregnant women have a 2.3-fold higher risk of obstetric complications compared to non-obese pregnant women. Since the p-value (0.043) was lower than the established statistical significance level (α = 0.05), a statistically significant association was concluded between the variables analyzed. Conclusion: Obesity in pregnant women was significantly related to the occurrence of obstetric complications.
