Asociación entre la anemia y depresión posparto en las puérperas del Hospital Luis N. Saenz, Lima durante el año 2025

Abstract

Objetivo: Determinar la asociación entre la anemia y depresión posparto en las puérperas del Hospital Luis N. Saenz, Lima durante el año 2025. Metodología: Investigación de diseño observacional, analítico y transversal; de enfoque cuantitativo y tipo básico. Muestra conformada por 231 puérperas atendidas en el Hospital PNP Luis N. Sáenz durante el año 2025; aplicándose el cuestionario Escala de Depresión Posparto de Edimburgo y la Ficha de Datos para valor de Hemoglobina Posparto. Resultados: Las puérperas con edades entre los 30 a 34 años predominan con un 45.9% seguido de las que se encuentran entre los 26 a 39 años con un 23.8%. En cuanto al número de hijos el 42% de puérperas tiene dos hijos, seguido del 39.4% que tienen un solo hijo. El grado de anemia no presento asociación estadísticamente significativa con la edad (X² = 19.56; gl= 12; p=0.076); ni con el número de hijos (X² = 7.8; gl= 9; p=0.55) y el grado de depresión presento asociación estadísticamente significativa con la edad (X² = 22.28; gl = 8; p = 0.004) y también con el número de hijos (X² = 13.99; gl=6; p = 0.0296). Con respecto a la asociación entre la anemia y depresión posparto presentan una relación significativa. (X² = 28.43; p = 0.000078; IC95% = 1.23 – 16.29; OR = 4.47). Conclusión: La anemia y depresión posparto presentan un relación y asociación significativa (X² = 28.43; p = 0.000078; 95% CI = 1.23 – 16.29; OR = 4.47) en las puérperas del Hospital Luis N. Sáenz, Lima durante el año 2025.

Objective: To determine the association between anemia and postpartum depression in postpartum women at the Luis N. Saenz Hospital, Lima, during 2025. Methodology: This was an observational, analytical, and cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach and basic research design. The sample consisted of 231 postpartum women treated at the Luis N. Saenz National Police Hospital during 2025. The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale and the Postpartum Hemoglobin Data Sheet were administered. Results: Postpartum women aged 30 to 34 years predominated at 45.9%, followed by those aged 26 to 39 years at 23.8%. Regarding the number of children, 42% of postpartum women had two children, followed by 39.4% who had one child. The degree of anemia did not show a statistically significant association with age (X² = 19.56; df = 12; p = 0.076) or with the number of children (X² = 7.8; df = 9; p = 0.55). The degree of depression, however, showed a statistically significant association with age (X² = 22.28; df = 8; p = 0.004) and also with the number of children (X² = 13.99; df = 6; p = 0.0296). Regarding the association between anemia and postpartum depression, a significant relationship was found. (X² = 28.43; p = 0.000078; 95% CI = 1.23 – 16.29; OR = 4.47). .Conclusion: Anemia and postpartum depression show a significant relationship and association (X² = 28.43; p = 0.000078; 95% CI = 1.23 – 16.29; OR = 4.47) in postpartum women at the Luis N. Saenz Hospital, Lima during the year 2025.
