This research aimed to determine the relationship between the attitude and knowledge of postpartum women in rooming-in regarding newborn screening at a hospital in Pangoa, 2025. The study employed a quantitative, applied, hypothetical-deductive method, a nonexperimental, cross-sectional design, and a correlational scope. The population consisted of 100 postpartum women receiving rooming-in care. Two instruments were used for data collection: a questionnaire on knowledge about newborn screening, organized into importance, procedure, and results/follow-up; and a Likert-type attitude questionnaire, distributed across cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions. Descriptive results showed that 100% of participants demonstrated a high level of knowledge, with a mean score of 9.82 out of 10. Regarding attitude, 53% showed a very favorable attitude, 45% a favorable attitude, and 2% a neutral attitude. In the inferential analysis, using Spearman's rho, a weak but significant positive relationship was found between total knowledge and total attitude, rho = 0.204; p = 0.042. Likewise, knowledge was significantly related to cognitive attitude, rho = 0.330; p < 0.001, and behavioral attitude, rho = 0.346; p < 0.001. It is concluded that knowledge is associated with the attitude of postpartum women towards newborn screening, mainly in its cognitive and behavioral components.
