Abstract

El cáncer de cuello uterino es una de las mayores amenazas para la salud de las mujeres en el mundo. Por ello, este proyecto busca mejorar su detección temprana analizando qué tan bien coinciden, el examen citopatológico con el examen histopatológico final en un laboratorio privado de Lima en 2025. El objetivo principal es descubrir la relación exacta entre los resultados de células escamosas y glandulares frente al diagnóstico definitivo, partiendo de la hipótesis de que existe una conexión muy significativa. Estudios anteriores demuestran que, aunque ambos análisis se complementan bien, todavía quedan discrepancias por resolver en el día a día. Al entender mejor estas diferencias, el laboratorio podrá unificar sus criterios y evitar errores humanos. El verdadero valor de este trabajo será perfeccionar el sistema de salud para que las pacientes reciban respuestas rápidas y seguras. Finalmente, el proyecto servirá para motivar a más mujeres a realizarse sus chequeos periódicamente, recordándoles que un examen a tiempo puede salvar vidas.

Cervical cancer is one of the greatest threats to women's health worldwide. Therefore, this project seeks to improve its early detection by analyzing how well the cytopathological examination matches the final histopathological examination in a private laboratory in Lima in 2025. The main objective is to discover the exact relationship between the squamous and glandular cell results and the definitive diagnosis, based on the hypothesis that a very significant connection exists. Previous studies demonstrate that, although both analyses complement each other well, there are still discrepancies to resolve in daily practice. By better understanding these differences, the laboratory will be able to standardize its criteria and avoid human error. The true value of this work will be to improve the healthcare system so that patients receive quick and reliable answers. Finally, the project will serve to motivate more women to get their checkups regularly, reminding them that a timely exam can save lives.
