Level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS and its relationship with adherence to treatment in patients at a hospital del Callao 2023

Abstract

Objective: Analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS and adherence to treatment in patients at a Hospital del Callao 2023. Methodology: A study with a quantitative approach was developed, applied, non-experimental, correlational, crosssectional; The population was made up of 420 patients who are in the Antiretroviral Treatment Program diagnosed with HIV positive and who are enrolled in a Hospital del Callao 2023, with a total of 88 patients being sampled. Results. Sociodemographic characteristics of 88 patients with HIV from a Hospital del Callao 2023.In age there are 40 to 50 years in 2%, 50 to 60 years in 40%, more than 60 years in 58%; in Sex there are Male in 72.7% and Female in 27.3%. At the level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS, with adherence to treatment, it was found that there is average knowledge with average adherence at 70.5%. In the dimension of signs and symptoms of the level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS, with adherence to treatment, it was found that there is average knowledge with average adherence at 67%. In the transmission dimension of the level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS, with adherence to treatment, it was found that there is average knowledge with average adherence at 53.4%. In the prevention dimension of the level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS, with adherence to treatment, it was found that there is average knowledge with average adherence at 39.8%.

Objetivo: Analizar la relación del nivel de conocimiento sobre VIH/SIDA con la adherencia al tratamiento en pacientes de un Hospital del Callao 2023. Metodología: Se desarrolló estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, aplicado, no experimental, correlacional, de corte transversal; La población fue constituida por 420 pacientes que están en el Programa, siendo la muestra un total de 88 pacientes. Resultados. En el nivel de conocimiento sobre VIH/SIDA, con la adherencia al tratamiento, se encontró que existen conocimiento medio con adherencia media en 70.5%. En la dimensión signos y síntomas del nivel de conocimiento sobre VIH/SIDA, con la adherencia al tratamiento, se encontró que existen conocimiento medio con adherencia media en 67%. En la dimensión transmisión del nivel de conocimiento sobre VIH/SIDA, con la adherencia al tratamiento, se encontró que existen conocimiento medio con adherencia media en 53.4%. En la dimensión prevención del nivel de conocimiento sobre VIH/SIDA, con la adherencia al tratamiento, se encontró que existen conocimiento medio con adherencia media en 39.8%.
