Level of anxiety and depression in SAMU health professionals in times of Covid-19, Lima - 2020

Abstract

The general objective of this research was: Determine the level of anxiety and depression in health professionals at SAMU in times of COVID-19, Lima - 2020. The research method was hypothetical-deductive, with a quantitative approach, basic type of character. , Non-experimental, transversal and descriptive design. The study population will be made up of the 250 health professionals who work at the SAMU of Lima, who will be the subject of this research. The sample consists of a total of 50 health professions from the SAMU of Lima. The results obtained indicated that there is intense moderate depression in times of COVID-19 in 22%, while the majority presented moderate-mild depression with 70% and 8% were within normal limits. Regarding anxiety, the sample presented intense anxiety in times of COVID-19 in 4%, while 50% presented moderate anxiety and 46% presented mild anxiety. It can be concluded that 92% of the professionals presented some degree of depression and 100% presented some level of anxiety. These results support the alternative hypothesis (H1) and reject the null hypothesis (H0). Keywords: depression, anxiety, health professionals, SAMU, COVID-19.

El objetivo general de esta investigación fue: Determinar el nivel de ansiedad y depresión en profesionales de la salud del SAMU en tiempos de COVID-19, Lima - 2020. El método de investigación fue hipotético-deductivo, con enfoque cuantitativo, tipo de carácter básico, Diseño no experimental, de alcance transversal y descriptivo. La población de estudio estará conformada por los 250 profesionales de la salud que laboran en el SAMU de Lima, quienes serán objeto de esta investigación. La muestra la constituye un total de 50 profesiones de la salud del SAMU de Lima. Los resultados obtenidos indicaron que existe depresión moderada intensa en tiempos de COVID-19 en un 22%, mientras que la mayoría presentó depresión moderada-leve con un 70% y un 8% se encontraban dentro de los límites normales. En cuanto a la ansiedad, la muestra presentó ansiedad intensa en tiempos de COVID-19 en un 4%, mientras que el 50% presentó ansiedad moderada y el 46% presentó ansiedad leve. Se puede concluir que el 92% de los profesionales presentaron algún grado de depresión y el 100% presentó algún nivel de ansiedad. Estos resultados apoyan la hipótesis alternativa (H1) y rechazan la hipótesis nula (H0). Palabras clave: depresión, ansiedad, profesionales de la salud, SAMU, COVID-19.
