Efficacy of the bag of Bogotá in prevention of complications in patients with abdominal sepsis

Abstract

The type of research was quantitative and the study design was a systematic review. The population consisted of a total of 14 scientific articles, of which the sample was made up of 10 scientific articles published and indexed in scientific databases. The GRADE method was used for evaluation, which assessed the quality of evidence and strength of recommendation. Of the 100% of the studies, it was concluded that 60% of the reviewed articles showed that they were not effective because they presented high rates of abdominal compartment syndrome, ventral hernias, and fistulas, compared to 40% of articles that showed the effectiveness of the Bogotá bag, with no complications developed and primary closure after laparotomy could be performed.

El tipo de investigación fue cuantitativo y el diseño de estudio es revisión sistemática, la población era un total de 14 artículos científicos de los cuales la muestra estuvo conformada por 10 artículos científicos publicados e indexados en las bases de datos científicos, para la evaluación se utilizó el método GRADE el cual evaluó la calidad de evidencia y fuerza de recomendación. Del 100% de los estudios se concluyó que el 60% de artículos revisados evidencian que no fueron eficaces porque presentaron elevadas tasas de síndrome compartimental abdominal, eventraciones y fístulas, a diferencia de un 40% de artículos que evidencian la eficacia de la Bolsa de Bogotá, no desarrollaron complicaciones y pudo realizarse el cierre primario después de una laparatomía.
