Perception of health risk in front of COVID-19 in Antamina mining workers 2021

Abstract

Since the Covid-19 pandemic was declared on March 11, 2020 by the World Health Organization, due to its rapid spread in more than 100 countries, it caused a crisis in health systems, which is why it was declared at the national level. the state of emergency; Due to the restrictions and measures implemented such as social isolation, traffic restrictions, more rigorous biosafety protocols in mining operations, and dismissal of workers, it is estimated that approximately 250 mining companies were paralyzed in about 33 countries, including Peru. In this context, the national government on May 2, 2020, through the issuance of Supreme Decree No. 080-2020-PCM, adopted the measure to prevent the economy from being affected, excepting the mining sector from prohibited activities. Thus, in July 2020, it was officially reported that workers had tested positive for COVID-19 in the mining sector, evidencing inadequate levels of health risk perception, since biosafety protocols were not well implemented or turned out to be insufficient. Objective: Determine the perception of health risk against COVID-19 in the workers of the Mota Engil Antamina 2021 company. Material and Method: This research has a quantitative approach, descriptive type, its design is cross-sectional observational, it will be carried out at the Antamina mining company. The sample will be 100 workers. A previously validated questionnaire on health risk perception will be applied.

Desde que fue declarada la pandemia por la Covid-19 el 11 de marzo 2020 por la Organización Mundial de la Salud, por su rápida extensión en más de 100 países, ocasiono una crisis en los sistemas de salud por lo que a nivel nacional se declaró el estado de emergencia; debido a las restricciones y medidas implementadas como el aislamiento social, restricciones en el tránsito, protocolos de bioseguridad más rigurosos en las operaciones mineras, despido de trabajadores, se calcula que unas 250 mineras, aproximadamente fueron paralizadas en cerca de 33 países incluidos el Perú. En este contexto el gobierno nacional el 02 de mayo del 2020 mediante la emisión del Decreto Supremo Nº 080-2020-PCM, adoptó la medida para evitar que la economía se vea afectada, exceptuando al sector minero de las actividades prohibidas. Es así que en julio del 2020 se reportó oficialmente que trabajadores habían dado positivo a la COVID-19 en el sector minero, evidenciando inadecuados niveles de percepción de riesgo en la salud, pues los protocolos de bioseguridad no fueron bien implementados o resultaron ser insuficientes. Objetivo: Determinar la percepción del riesgo en la salud frente a la COVID-19 en los trabajadores de la empresa Mota Engil Antamina 2021. Material y Método: La presente investigación tiene un enfoque cuantitativo, del tipo descriptivo, su diseño es observacional de corte transversal, se efectuará en la minera Antamina. La muestra serán 100 trabajadores. Se aplicará un cuestionario sobre la percepción del riesgo en la salud previamente validado.
