Level of self-care practices in patients receiving treatment against tuberculosis in a primary care center in San Juan de Miraflores

Abstract

The care of people is carried out in permanent interaction, and the scientific knowledge of nursing professionals who directly express the educational and supervision strategies to the person in need of care is essential. The efficiency and effectiveness of its functions depends on this, both in the human aspect and in compliance with the procedures to be carried out with the patient and family. TB alters the quality of life of users. Likewise, when diagnosed it represents great changes in their lifestyle for the user: a costly increase in economic spending and psychological changes, as well as for the family and the State. Furthermore, users require special care regarding TB, as they are considered a labile and risk group, so it is essential to safeguard their full well-being. It is vitally important to determine the level of self-care practices in patients receiving treatment against tuberculosis. The study will help lay the foundations for future research, with the results obtained we will be able to identify what or which areas we must reinforce during patient education, likewise during treatment supervision it will allow us to focus on the precise care that helps to have success of the treatment and with the contributions provided, reduce abandonment rates.

El cuidado de las personas se realiza en permanente interacción, siendo indispensable el conocimiento científico de las profesionales de enfermería que expresan directamente las estrategias educativas y de supervisión a la persona necesitada de cuidado. De esto depende la eficacia y efectividad de sus funciones tanto en el aspecto humano como en el cumplimiento de los procedimientos a llevar a cabo con el paciente y familia. La TB altera a la calidad de vida de los usuarios. Asimismo, al ser diagnosticado representa para el usuario grandes variaciones en su estilo de vida: un costoso incremento en el gasto económico y cambios psíquicos, así como para la familia y el Estado. Además, los usuarios requieren cuidados especiales, respecto a la TB, pues son considerados un grupo lábil y de riesgo, por lo que es esencial salvaguardar su bienestar pleno. Es de vital importancia determinar el nivel de prácticas de Autocuidado en pacientes que reciben tratamiento contra la tuberculosis El estudio ayudara a sentar las bases para futuras investigaciones, con los resultados obtenidos podremos identificar que o cuales son las áreas que debemos reforzar durante la educación al paciente, así mismo durante la supervisión del tratamiento nos permitirá enfocarnos en la atención precisa que ayude a tener éxito del tratamiento y con los aportes brindados disminuir las tasas de abandono.
