Characteristics of cytological changes in uterine cervical atrophies observed in the Pap smear of patients treated at the San Bartolomé Hospital 2023

Abstract

Currently, cervical uterine atrophies are not of much clinical importance as they are a natural process of menopause that begins around the age of 50 in women. Cervical uterine atrophies start with the cessation of menstruation, but few question that the end of the fertile age, which leads to changes in cervical-vaginal cytology, can cause atrophy. It is also questioned whether only the population over 50 years old can have cervical-vaginal atrophy. This study will address these questions and the most recurrent cytological changes in this population.

Actualmente, las atrofias cervico uterinas no son de mucha importancia a nivel clínico dado que las atrofias cervico uterinas son un proceso natural de la menopausia que inicia a la edad de los 50 años en la mujer. Las atrofias cervico uterinas inicia con el término de la menstruación, pero pocos se cuestión que conlleva al termiso de la edad fértil que cambios en la citología cervico vaginal puede llegar a causar las atrofias y si solo el sector poblacional mayor a 50 años es el único sector que puede tener una atrofia cervico vaginal lo cuales en esta investigación dara respuesta junto a los cambios citológicos más recurrentes en esta población.
