Knowledge and practices on prevention of pressure injuries for adult patients hospitalized in nurses at the San Isidro Labrador hospital, Lima, 2024

Abstract

The main objective of hospitals is to avoid pressure injuries, since their origin may fall on the staff or in the health center itself. These injuries cause patient suffering, increase resource use, and increase the risk of complications. Objective: Determine the relationship between the knowledge and practices of nurses on prevention of pressure injuries in adult patients hospitalized at the San Isidro Labrador hospital, Lima, 2024. Methodology: The following study is of a cross-sectional application type with a correlational level and a quantitative approach, being its sample of 80 nurses in charge of care in the hospitalization service of adult patients at the San Isidro Labrador Hospital, Lima. The questionnaire and observation guide will be used as a dichotomous instrument, both developed and validated by Arce L. With statistical validation based on the Chi Square, where the p-value will be in relation to the descriptive data. The results will be analyzed using statistical programs such as SPSS 26. The results will be presented and discussed in tables and figures.

El principal objetivo de los hospitales es evitar las lesiones por presión, ya que su origen puede recaer en el personal o en el propio centro de salud. Estas lesiones causan sufrimiento al paciente, incrementan el uso de recursos y aumentan el riesgo de complicaciones. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el conocimiento y las prácticas del enfermero sobre prevención de lesiones por presión en pacientes adultos hospitalizados del hospital San Isidro Labrador, Lima, 2024. Metodología: El siguiente estudio es de tipo aplicativo corte transversal con nivel correlacional y enfoque cuantitativo, siendo su muestra de 80 enfermeros encargados del cuidado asistencial en el servicio de hospitalización de pacientes adultos en el Hospital San Isidro Labrador, Lima. Como instrumento dicotómico se utilizarán el cuestionario y guía de observación, ambos elaborados y validados por Arce L. Con validación estadística en función al Chi Cuadrado, donde el valor p estará en relación a los datos descriptivos. Los resultados se analizaran usando programas estadísticos como el SPSS 26. Se presentarán y discutirán los resultados en tablas y figuras.
