Level of knowledge about type II diabetes mellitus and lifestyles of the elderly patients of the Chancay hospital - 2022.

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about type II diabetes mellitus and the lifestyles of older adult patients at the Chancay Hospital - 2022. Material and method: The research responds to the deductive method, has a quantitative approach, is applied type, the population that constitutes it makes a total of 170 geriatric patients who regularly attend their consultation and are registered, the patients suffer from DM2 and have care in the endocrinology area of the Chancay hospital, from this a sample of 118 was obtained, the survey technique was used, which will be applied through questionnaires for the variables. To assess the level of knowledge of DM2, the test called Diabetes Knownledge Questionare (DKQ / 24) will be applied. It is a simple, practical and specific instrument that will allow the researcher to collect information and opinions expressed by older adults for their level of knowledge, psychometric instrument that will allow to assess the Lifestyle in Diabetics constitutes a specific tool that allows to make viable the adequate assessment of the lifestyle in a practical and fast way. Its content validity was made and it was submitted to the judgment of experts, reliability was found by applying the instruments, pilot type tests were carried out obtaining a value of 0.86 and 0.81 which indicated excellent reliability, which refers to adequate reliability indicators. The data processing will be used the SPSS version 27 program, all the information collected will be processed and simplified in percentage frequencies and later tables and graphs will be made using the Microsoft Excel program, for the development of operationalization of the variables, the specific objectives.

"Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimientos sobre diabetes mellitus tipo II y los estilos de vida de los pacientes adultos mayores del Hospital de Chancay – 2022. Material y método: la investigación responde al método deductivo, tiene enfoque cuantitativo, es tipo aplicada, la población que lo constituye hacen un total de 170 pacientes gerontos que asisten regularmente a su consulta y se encuentran empadronados, los pacientes padecen de DM2 y cuentan con atención en el área de endocrinología del nosocomio de Chancay, de esto se obtuvo una muestra de 118, se utilizó la técnica de la encuesta, la que se aplicará a través de cuestionarios para las variables. Para valorar el nivel de conocimientos de DM2, se aplicará el test denominado Diabetes Knownledge Questionare (DKQ/24). Es un instrumento simple, practico y específico que permitirá a la investigadora recoger la información y las opiniones que manifiestan las personas adultas mayores para su nivel de conocimiento, instrumento psicométrico que permitirá valorar el Estilo de Vida en Diabéticos constituye una herramienta especifica que permite viabilizar la adecuada valoración del estilo de vida de una manera practica y rápida. Se hizo su validez de contenido y se sometió a juicio de expertos, se encontró confiabilidad aplicando para los instrumentos se realizaron pruebas de tipo piloto obteniendo un valor de 0.86 y 0.81 el que indicó excelente confiabilidad lo que refiere indicadores adecuados de confiabilidad. El procesamiento de datos será utilizado el programa SPSS versión 27, toda la información recolectada será procesada y simplificada en frecuencias porcentuales y posteriormente se realizarán tablas y gráficos mediante el programa Microsoft Excel, , para el desarrollo de operacionalización de las variables, los objetivos específicos."
