Nursing care and satisfaction of the immediate postoperative patient in the recovery unit of a public hospital in Lima, 2023

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between nursing care and patient satisfaction in the immediate postoperative period in the recovery unit of a public hospital in Lima, 2023.

Materials and Methods: The research follows the hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative, descriptive-correlational approach. The population will consist of postoperative patients who underwent surgical interventions lasting no longer than one hour, such as knee, shoulder, and wrist arthroscopies; acute appendicitis (appendectomy); cholecystitis (cholecystectomy); cesarean sections; surgical wound care; and outpatient surgeries, including both men and women aged 18 to 60 years. The sample will comprise 40 patients, selected through non-probabilistic snowball sampling, which is particularly suited to identifying users within a defined timeframe.

The data collection technique will be a survey, and the instrument used will be a Likert-scale questionnaire to describe the relationship between the two variables. The questionnaire on nursing care, based on Patricia Larson's model, was modified and adapted by Lecca, validated by a panel of 10 experts, and achieved a Cronbach’s alpha value of 0.798, indicating excellent reliability. The questionnaire on immediate postoperative patient satisfaction was validated by Méndez and collaborators in 2021, achieving a Cronbach’s alpha value of 0.93 in the pilot test.

Data processing will be conducted using SPSS software version 29, with Excel used for data entry based on a structured matrix designed as a database in alignment with the measurement instrument.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre los cuidados de enfermería y la satisfacción del paciente post operado inmediato en la unidad de recuperación de un Hospital Público de Lima, 2023. Material y método: La investigación responde al método hipotético-deductivo, tiene enfoque cuantitativo, descriptivo correlacional, la población estará conformada por pacientes post operados, con una intervención quirúrgica no mayor a 1 hora como son las cirugías de artroscopias de rodilla-hombro y muñeca, apendicitis aguda (apendilap), colecistitis (colelap), cesáreas, curas quirúrgicas y cirugías ambulatorias etc. entre varones y mujeres de 18 a 60 años de edad, la muestra estará conformado por 40 pacientes para ello se realizará un muestreo no probabilístico por bolas de nieve que tienen por particularidad en identificar a los usuarios en una línea de tiempo determinado, se utilizara la técnica de la encuesta y el instrumento el cuestionario con una escala de Likert, la que describe la relación entre ambas variables, el cuestionario para cuidados de enfermería de Patricia Larson esta modificado y adaptado por Lecca con una validez y confiabilidad lo sometió a juicio de 10 expertos , Alfa de Cronbach obteniendo un valor de 0,798, el que indicó excelente confiabilidad y para satisfacción del paciente post operado inmediato, fue validado por Méndez y colaboradores en el año 2021, en la prueba piloto arrojo Alfa de Cronbach un valor de 0.93. El procesamiento de datos se realizara mediante el uso del paquete estadístico SPSS versión 29, asimismo se hizo uso del Excel para el vaciado de datos de acuerdo a una matriz estructurada como base de datos en relación al instrumento de medición.
