Effectiveness of home nursing visits to prevent treatment abandonment in tuberculosis patients

Abstract

Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of the nursing home visit for the prevention of abandonment in the treatment of tuberculosis. Materials and Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review, the search was carried out in articles with full texts that evidence methodological strength. The Grade system was used for the level of evidence and strength of recommendation. Result: 10 articles were chosen, 20% with (02) articles from India, 30% with (03) articles from Brazil and 10% each from South Africa, Canada, Cambodia, Uganda and Tanzania. Systematic reviews have been studied from Canada, descriptive studies from Brazil, India followed by quasi-experimental studies, Cambodia qualitative study and followed by Uganda and Tanzania with Cohort study. Where of the total number of articles analyzed (100%) affirm the effectiveness of the home visit to prevent abandonment of anti-tuberculosis treatment. Conclusions: The various articles studied internationally demonstrate the effectiveness of home visits to prevent abandonment of tuberculosis treatment.

Objetivo: Analizar acerca de la efectividad de la visita domiciliaria de enfermería para la prevención del abandono en el tratamiento de la tuberculosis. Materiales y Métodos: Revisión Sistemática observacional y retrospectivo, la búsqueda se ha realizado en artículos con textos completos que evidencian fuerza metodológica. Para el nivel de evidencia y fuerza de recomendación se utilizó el sistema Grade. Resultado: Se eligieron 10 artículos, 20% con (02) artículos de la India, 30% con (03) artículos de Brasil y 10% cada uno Sudáfrica, Canadá, Camboya, Uganda y Tanzania. Han sido estudiados revisiones sistemáticas de Canadá, de Brasil estudios descriptivos, India seguido de estudios cuasi experimentales, Camboya estudio cualitativo y seguido de Uganda y Tanzania con estudio de Cohorte. Donde del total de artículos analizados (100%) afirman la efectividad de la visita domiciliaria para prevenir el abandono de tratamiento antituberculoso. Conclusiones: En los diversos artículos estudiados a nivel internacional demuestran la efectividad de las visitas domiciliarias para prevenir el abandono del tratamiento de la tuberculosis.
