Efficacy of topical negative pressure therapy in the treatment of patients with wounds

Abstract

Topical Negative Pressure Therapy (TPNt) is a procedure that accelerates the healing process, a “humid environment” healing technique. It is an occlusive and non-invasive system, the exudate is evacuated to the outside by the aspiration of negative pressure, avoiding edema and the accumulation of exudate, our purpose is to know the effectiveness of topical negative pressure therapy in the treatment of patients with wounds, given that there is a need to provide answers about the benefits in the healing process of patients' wounds, in their quality of life and in the health system.

La Terapia tópica de presión negativa (TPNt) es un procedimiento que acelera el proceso de cicatrización, técnica de cura en “ambiente húmedo”. Es un sistema oclusivo y no invasivo, el exudado es evacuado hacia el exterior por la aspiración de la presión negativa, evitando el edema y el acumulo de exudado, nuestro propósito, es conocer la eficacia de la terapia tópica de presión negativa en el tratamiento de pacientes con heridas, dado que hay necesidad de dar respuestas sobre los beneficios en el proceso de cicatrización de las heridas de los pacientes, en su calidad de vida y en el sistema de salud.
