Effectiveness of the educational program: "Sexual education and healthy communities" in 4th and 5th-year high school adolescents at Institución Educativa Tungasuca – Carabayllo, 2014

Abstract

Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the Educational Program "Sexual Education and Healthy Communities" on the level of knowledge and attitudes regarding sexual and reproductive health in 4th- and 5th-year high school adolescents. Material and Method: The study is quantitative, applied level, using a quasi-experimental method. Fourteen educational sessions were conducted with an intentional sample of 218 students aged 13 to 18 years. Data collection was carried out through a multiple-choice questionnaire and a Likert scale, applied before and after the intervention. Data processing and analysis were performed using SPSS 15.0 statistical software. Results: Before the educational program, 37% and 35% of students had very low and low levels of knowledge, respectively. After the program, 42% achieved an average level of knowledge. Regarding attitudes, they remained neutral ("neither in favor nor against") in both the pre- and post-test. However, there was a shift from neutral attitudes to favorable and highly favorable attitudes in 42% of the participants. Conclusions: The Educational Program "Sexual Education and Healthy Communities" is effective (Student's t-test: t(413) = 8.798, p = .038 and t(434) = 2.682, p < .001) as it led to an increase in the level of knowledge and changes in favorable attitudes.

El trabajo de investigación respecto a la “Percepción de las gestantes sobre la calidad de atención en el control prenatal del Centro de Salud Materno Infantil Ancón• 2014“, tiene como objetivo: DETERMINAR la percepción de las gestantes sobre la calidad de atención en el control pre natal del Centro de Salud Materno Infantil “Ancón“ entre los meses de Octubre a Diciembre del 2014. Para lo cual se decidió evaluar las percepciones a partir de las dimensiones:percepción física, prestación de servicio, velocidad de respuesta, seguridad y Empatía. DISEÑO Y METODO: estudio de tipo observacional prospectivo descriptivo, de corte transversal. Se analizó la información de las percepciones de las usuarias gestantes, recolectado en 207 encuestas que consta de 6 partes; 'todas ella acudieron para su control pre natal a dicho establecimiento de primer nivel de atención. RESULTADOS: En el control prenatal del Centro de Salud Materno Infantil “Ancón“, acuden pacientes de edades de 18 - 29 años, el 98% viven en Ancón y la mayoría son mujeres convivientes con secundaria completa, que presentan percepciones satisfactorias con respecto a cada dimensión evaluada, aunque se necesita mejorar ciertos aspectos mencionados como ítems en la encuesta. CONCLUSIONES: En el estudio sobre la calidad de atención en el control prenatal en el Centro de Salud Materno Infantil “Ancón“, se ha encontrado satisfacción en la percepción de las gestantes que acuden a controlarse a dicho establecimiento.
