Knowledge of the prevention of pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation in intensive care unit nurses in a hospital in Lima, 2021

Abstract

This study is quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional. The sample considered is the total population of 62 nurses working in the adult ICU (Intensive Care Unit). Technique and instrument for data collection: The survey will be used as a technique and the instrument will be a questionnaire on "knowledge of the prevention of pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation", dichotomous and with a total of 12 closed questions. Procedures: The information will be collected in a space outside the work area with prior permission and coordination, delivering sheets and corresponding pens respecting biosafety protocols. After collecting the data, it will be processed in the Microsoft Excel and SPSS v24 programs. Statistical analysis: at this stage, the results will be presented through frequency and percentage tables, as well as graphs, belonging to descriptive statistics.

"El presente estudio es de tipo cuantitativo, descriptivo de corte transversal. la muestra considerada es la población total de 62 enfermeras que laboran en la UCI (Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos) adulto. Técnica e instrumento de recolección de datos: Se hará uso de la encuesta como técnica y el instrumento será un cuestionario sobre “conocimiento de la prevención de neumonía asociada a ventilación mecánica”, dicotómico y con un total de 12 preguntas cerradas. Procedimientos: la información se recopilará en un espacio fuera del área laboral previos permisos y coordinaciones, entregándolas hojas y lapiceros correspondientes respetando los protocolos de bioseguridad. Luego de recopilar los datos se procesará en el programa Microsoft Excel y SPSS v24. Análisis estadístico: en esta etapa se presentarán los resultados por medio de tablas de frecuencias y porcentajes, así como gráficos, pertenecientes a la estadística descriptiva."
