Patient safety and prevention of adverse events by nursing professionals in a surgical center of a hospital in Metropolitan Lima, 2024

Abstract

The global healthcare landscape is changing and health systems are developing in complex contexts. New technologies and care models have therapeutic potential, but also new threats to patient safety; We are working to generate strategies that can stop the appearance of adverse events; Therefore, this study aims to: “Determine the relationship between patient safety and prevention of adverse events by nursing professionals in a surgical center of a hospital in Metropolitan Lima, 2023”, the universe will be made up of 80 nurses from a surgical center of a hospital in Metropolitan Lima. Sample: the study sample is the total population. Regarding Materials and Method: Quantitative, applied, non-experimental cross-sectional and correlational study. Instruments: To obtain data on “Patient Safety” the exam validated by Suarez Chillcce, Natalia (2023) will be used, whose reliability is high with a Crombach Alpha of 0.885 and for “Prevention of Adverse Events” the exam will also be used. by Suarez Chillcce, Natalia (2023) with Crombach's Alpha index 0.997. Data will be obtained through the survey. Statistical processing and data analysis: will be carried out using SPSS 27 software with descriptive tables and frequencies expressed in percentages, the statistical analysis will be according to its distribution through non-parametric Spearman's Rho statistical tests to obtain the degree of relationship between both variables. which will be the response to the established objective.

El panorama mundial de atención sanitaria viene cambiando y los sistemas de salud se desarrollan en contextos complejos. Nuevas tecnologías y modelos de atención son un potencial terapéutico, pero también nuevas amenazas en la seguridad del paciente; se viene trabajando para generar estrategias que puedan frenen la aparición de eventos adversos; por ello este estudio tiene como Objetivo: “Determinar la relación entre seguridad de los pacientes y prevención de eventos adversos por los profesionales de enfermería en un centro quirúrgico de un hospital de Lima Metropolitana, 2023”, el universo se conformará de 80 enfermeros de un centro quirúrgico de un nosocomio de Lima Metropolitana. Muestra: la muestra de estudio es el total de la población. En cuanto a los Materiales y Método: Estudio cuantitativo, aplicada, no experimental de corte transversal y correlacional. Instrumentos: Para obtener datos sobre “Seguridad del paciente” se utilizará el examen validado por Suarez Chillcce, Natalia (2023), cuya confiabilidad es alta con un Alpha de Crombach de 0.885 y para “Prevención de Eventos Adversos” se utilizará, también el examen de Suarez Chillcce, Natalia (2023) con índice de Alpha de Crombach 0.997. La obtención de datos será a través de la encuesta. El Procesamiento estadístico y análisis de datos: se efectuará mediante el software SPSS 27 con tablas descriptivas y frecuencias expresadas en porcentajes, el análisis estadístico será según su distribución a través de pruebas estadísticas no paramétricas Rho de Spearman para obtener el grado de relación entre ambas variables que será la respuesta al objetivo establecido.
