Quality of care and satisfaction in older adult patients in the emergency service of a hospital, Ica - 2023

Abstract

Introduction: The older adult is a patient who needs to have another type of care so that health personnel should be prepared to face different situations that contribute to the patient's satisfaction with the way he/she is cared for and better adherence to treatment is achieved. Objective: To establish the relationship between quality of care and satisfaction in elderly patients in the Emergency Department of a Hospital, Ica - 2023. The population will be constituted by 745 elderly patients of which 253 will form the sample. Methodology: The research will focus on the hypothetical-deductive method of quantitative approach, applied type and non-experimental design exactly a correlational one. For data collection, the survey technique will be used and standardized instruments will be applied: a questionnaire on quality of care and a questionnaire on user satisfaction. To obtain the results, the SSPS version 25 program and Microsoft Excel software will be used to process and analyze the data collected, which will be used to prepare tables with their respective figures, as well as to test the hypotheses proposed through Spearman's Rho correlation coefficient.

Introducción: El adulto mayor es un paciente que necesita tener otro tipo de cuidado de manera que el personal de salud debe estar preparado para afrontar las diferentes situaciones que contribuyan a que el paciente se sienta satisfecho de la forma en la que es atendido y se logre una mejor adherencia al tratamiento. Objetivo: Establecer la relación entre la calidad de atención y la satisfacción en pacientes adulto mayor en el Servicio de Emergencia de un Hospital, Ica - 2023. La población estará constituida por 745 pacientes adulto mayor de los cuales 253 conformarán la muestra. Metodología: La investigación se centrará en el método hipotético-deductivo de enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada y diseño no experimental exactamente un correlacional. Para la recolección de datos se trabajará con la técnica de la encuesta y se aplicará instrumentos estandarizados siendo un cuestionario sobre calidad de atención y un cuestionario sobre satisfacción del usuario. Para obtener los resultados se utilizará el programa SSPS versión 25 y el software Microsoft Excel para procesar y analizar los datos recolectados con lo cual se podrán elaborar las tablas con sus respectivas figuras, así también probar las hipótesis planteadas a través del coeficiente de correlación de Rho de Spearman.
