Knowledge about acute diarrheal diseases and preventive practice of mothers of children under 5 years of age in the outpatient consultation service of a health center, Lima 2023

Abstract

This project aims to determine the relationship between knowledge about acute diarrheal diseases and preventive practice of mothers of children under 5 years of age in the outpatient service; To this end, an applied study was developed with a quantifiable approach, under a nonexperimental descriptive correlational design with the participation of 122 mothers as a population, mothers of children under 5 years of age, from the outpatient service and the sample was 93 mothers, who participated through two instruments: a questionnaire of 22 items for the variable knowledge of acute diarrheal diseases and another of 20 items for the prevention of acute diarrheal diseases. The results will be collected through these instruments, then processed, coded and entered into the database designed in Excel, also the results will be analyzed and synthesized by the statistical software package version 25.0 SPSS, which will allow us to obtain both descriptive and inferential results.

El presente proyecto tiene el objetivo de determinar la relación entre el conocimiento sobre las enfermedades diarreicas agudas y la practica preventiva de madres de niños menores de 5 años en el servicio de la consulta externa; para ello se desarrollara un estudio de tipo aplicada con un enfoque cuantificable, bajo un diseño no experimental descriptivo correlacional con la participación de 122 madres como población, madres de niños menores de 5 años, del servicio de la consulta externa y la muestra fue de 93 madres, quienes participaran mediante dos instrumentos: un cuestionario de 22 ítems para la variable conocimiento de enfermedades diarreicas agudas y otro de 20 ítems para la prevención de enfermedades diarreicas agudas. Los resultados se recopilarán a través de este instrumento, luego procesarán, codificarán e ingresarán en la base de datos diseñada en Excel, asimismo los resultados serán analizados y sintetizados por el paquete de software estadístico versión 25.0 SPSS, lo cual nos permitirá obtener resultados tanto descriptivos como inferenciales.
