Relationship between knowledge and nursing care on thermoregulation in the premature neonate in the ICU of a hospital in the department of Junín 2021

Abstract

Prematurity is one of the current problems within public healthcare in Peru. This issue increases morbidity and mortality in children. Thermoregulation is one of the critical physiological functions of newborns, related to their survival, well-being, and associated morbidity. Through thermoregulation, a balance is maintained between heat loss and production, ensuring that the body temperature remains within the normal range. The objective is to identify the relationship between the level of knowledge and care practices of nursing staff regarding the basic nursing care of thermoregulation in premature neonatal patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of a hospital in the Junín region, 2021. The methodology will follow a hypothetical-deductive method, with a quantitative approach, applied type, and non-experimental, descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional design. The study population will consist of 30 nurses from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Neonatology Service. The instrument to assess knowledge will be a validated questionnaire, while the instrument for evaluating nursing care will be an observation guide, with descriptive statistical and correlation analysis.

La prematuridad es uno de los problemas actuales dentro de la sanidad pública en el Perú, este problema acrecienta la morbilidad y la mortalidad en niños, la termorregulación es una de las funciones fisiológicas críticas del neonato que está relacionado son su sobrevivencia, bienestar y morbilidad asociada, con dicha termorregulación se mantiene un equilibrio entre la perdida de calor y la producción logrando que la temperatura corporal se encuentre dentro del rango normal. El objetivo es Identificar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y cuidados del personal de Enfermería asociados a los cuidados mínimos de Enfermería sobre Termorregulación en pacientes neonatales prematuros en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales de un Hospital de la región Junín 2021 la metodología será de método hipotético – deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, tipo aplicada y de diseño no experimental, descriptivo, correlacional y de corte transversal. la población será conformada por 30 enfermeras de la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales del Servicio de Neonatología. El instrumento que se utilizará para los conocimientos es un cuestionario que ha sido validado y el instrumento para los cuidados de las enfermeras será la guía de observación realizando un análisis estadístico descriptivo y de correlación.
