knowledge and practice of surgical handwashing of health personnel from a national hospital in Lima, 2023

Abstract

The objective of this work is to determine the relationship between knowledge and practices of surgical handwashing of health personnel in a national hospital in Lima, 2023. Methodologically, this research will be developed under a quantitative approach, being of an applied type, the design will be non- experimental, correlational level and cross section. The sample will be 64 nurses (as) and 104 surgeons in a national hospital in Lima, using a census sample and using as instruments for the knowledge variable, a questionnaire, and a checklist for the handwashing practices variable. ; each instrument contains 20 items to collect the data obtained from the sample. A Microsoft Excel spreadsheet will be used to store the information and its subsequent statistical examination, using the SPSS version 26.0 software to verify the projected hypotheses, making use of the correlation test according to the normal distribution of the data, thanks to the test Kolmogorov Smirnov normality, which may be the Pearson correlation test or Spearman's Rho, thus achieving the study objectives.

El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo, determinar la relación de los conocimientos y las prácticas de lavado de manos quirúrgico del personal de salud en un hospital nacional de Lima, 2023. Metodológicamente esta investigación se desarrollará bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, siendo de tipo aplicada, el diseño será no experimental, nivel correlacional y corte transversal. La muestra, será de 64 enfermeros (as) y 104 médicos cirujanos en un hospital nacional en Lima, empleándose un muestreo censal y utilizándose como instrumentos para la variable conocimiento, un cuestionario y una lista de cotejo para la variable prácticas de lavado de manos; cada instrumento contiene 20 ítems para recopilar los datos obtenidos de la muestra. Se utilizará una hoja de cálculo en Microsoft Excel para almacenar la información y su posterior examen estadístico, empleando el software SPSS versión 26.0 para comprobar las hipótesis proyectadas, haciendo uso de la prueba de correlación según la distribución normal de la data, gracias a la prueba normalidad de Kolmogorov Smirnov, pudiendo ser el test de correlación de Pearson o el Rho de Spearman, consiguiendo así resolver los objetivos de estudio.
