Prevalence of child malnutrition and anemia at the ''La Libertad'' health center - Huancayo, in the period of august 2021-august 2022

Abstract

The main objective of this study was to estimate the prevalence of anemia and childhood malnutrition in children aged 6 months to 5 years receiving care at the La Libertad-Huancayo health center from August 2021 to August 2022. A basic research study was carried out using a hypothetical-deductive method and a non-experimental design, with a quantitative approach. The sample size for 2021 was 4,075 children, while for 2022, it was 13,133 children in total. Observation forms were used to measure malnutrition and anemia in the children. The main results showed a prevalence with a significance lower than 0.05, as indicated by the Spearman Rho coefficient, allowing the conclusion that there is a relationship between anemia and childhood malnutrition in children aged 6 months to 5 years attending the La Libertad-Huancayo health center from August 2021 to August 2022.

Con el objetivo principal de estimar la prevalencia de anemia y desnutrición infantil en niños de 6 meses a 5 años que reciben atención en el centro de salud La Libertad-Huancayo durante el período de agosto 2021 a agosto 2022, se llevó a cabo un estudio de investigación básico utilizando un método hipotético deductivo y un diseño no experimental, con un enfoque cuantitativo. La muestra de participantes para el año 2021 fue de 4075 niños, mientras que para el año 2022 fue de 13133 niños en total. Para medir las variables de desnutrición y anemia en los niños, se utilizaron fichas de observación. Los principales resultados del estudio indicaron la prevalencia de una significancia menor a 0.05 arrojado por el coeficiente Rho de Spearman lo que permitió concluir que existe relación entre la anemia y desnutrición infantil en niños de 6 meses a 5 años que se atienden en el centro de salud la Libertad-Huancayo durante el periodo agosto 2021-agosto 2022
