Level of knowledge and self-care practices about arterial hypertension in patients in the cardiology area of a Lima hospital - 2023

Abstract

The main objective is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and self-care practices in hypertensive patients in the cardiology service of a hospital in Lima 2023. A study was carried out with a hypothetical deductive method with a quantitative approach, of a nonexperimental design of a correlational type and of a cross-section. Two instruments will be applied, the first will be a 25-item questionnaire on knowledge of arterial hypertension. The second will be the Self-care questionnaire with a total of 18 items, using the Likert scale. The results will be managed using the SPSS Version 25 statistical program, and the Spearman coefficient will measure the correlation between my 2 variables.

El objetivo principal es determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre hipertensión arterial y prácticas de autocuidado en los pacientes hipertensos del servicio de cardiología de un hospital de Lima 2023. Se realizará un estudio con método hipotético deductivo, con enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental de tipo correlacional y de corte transversal. Se aplicarán dos instrumentos, el primero será un cuestionario sobre conocimiento de hipertensión arterial de 25 ítems. El segundo será el cuestionario de Autocuidado con un total de 18 ítems, mediante la escala de Likert. Los resultados se manejarán mediante el programa estadístico SPSS Versión 25, y el coeficiente de Spearman medirá la correlación entre las 2 variables.
