Objective: to determine the maternal-fetal risk factors associated with premature rupture of membranes in patients treated at the Hipólito Unanue National Hospital during the period of January - July 2017. Materials and Method: analytical, retrospective, cross-sectional observational study. The study population was made up of the medical records of the patients treated in the Gynecology-obstetrics service of the Hipólito Unanue National Hospital. For data analysis, the statistical program SPSS version 22 was used where the descriptive and inferential analysis was carried out. Results: 10.9% of premature rupture of membranes was found in the period from January to July 2017. The average age was 26 years, with a range of (14 and 45 years), the maternal risk factors were: occupation, gestational age, inadequate prenatal control and urinary tract infection have a statistically significant value (P < 0.05) and macrosomia is the fetal risk factor associated with premature rupture of membranes. with a significant value (P< 0.05). Conclusion: the risk factors associated with premature rupture of membranes are occupation (housewife, dependent worker and independent worker), gestational age (term and preterm), inadequate prenatal control (less than 6 controls) and infection of the urinary tract. The fetal risk factor associated with premature rupture of membranes was fetal macrosomia.en_US
