Cost-effectiveness of implementing the human papillomavirus vaccine in a national immunization program

Abstract

Objective: Systematize the evidence of cost-effectiveness in the implementation of the human papillomavirus vaccine in an immunization program. Materials and Methods: A systematic review of the 10 scientific articles that synthesizes the multiple investigations was used. Which are part of evidence-based nursing due to its rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions, the articles were found in the following database Scielo, Lipecs, Lilacs, Medline and Pubmed. 10 articles were chosen, from countries such as South Africa, Brazil, Croatia, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Spain. Considering the research designs, nine Cohort studies and one randomized clinical trial were included. Results: Of the total of 10 articles analyzed, 100% show a cost effectiveness in the implementation of the human papillomavirus vaccine in an immunization program. . Conclusions: It was evident that the 10 articles refer that there is Cost Effectiveness in the implementation of the vaccine against the human papillomavirus in an immunization program, showing in the articles that in their respective countries the incidence of cervical cancer caused by human papillomavirus despite the high cost of the vaccine.

Objetivo: Sistematizar la evidencia de costo –efectividad en la implementación de vacuna contra el virus de papiloma humano en un programa de inmunización. Materiales y Métodos: Se utilizó revisión Sistemática de los 10 artículos científicos que sintetiza las múltiples investigaciones. Que forman parte de enfermería basada en evidencias por su rigurosa metodología, identificando los estudios relevantes para responder preguntas específicas, los artículos fueron hallados en la siguiente base de datos Scielo, Lipecs, Lilacs, Medline y Pubmed. Se eligieron 10 artículos, de países como Sudáfrica, Brasil, Croacia, Perú, Argentina, Colombia, España. considerando los diseños de investigación, se incluyó nueve estudios Cohorte y uno ensayo clínico aleatorizado Resultados: Del total de los 10 artículos analizados, el 100% muestra un costo efectividad en la implementación de la vacuna contra el virus de papiloma humano en un programa de inmunización. Conclusiones: Se evidencio que los 10 artículos refieren que existe Costo Efectividad en la implementación de la vacuna contra el virus del papiloma humano en un programa de inmunización evidenciándose en los artículos que en sus respectivos países se redujo la incidencia de cáncer de cuello uterino producido por el virus del papiloma humano a pesar de los altos costo de la vacuna .
