Family functionality and psychomotor development in children aged 2 to 5 years cared for in the Cred del Centro Materno Infantil Sureños, Puente Piedra - 2019

Abstract

Determine the relationship between family functionality and psychomotor development in children aged 2 to 5 years treated in the CRED service of the Sureños Maternal and Child Center, Puente Piedra-2019. Materials and methods: the approach is quantitative, the design is correlational-transverse. The sample was made up of 124 mothers and children who attend the CRED office of the aforementioned establishment. The instruments used were the TEPSI to evaluate psychomotor development and the family APGAR to evaluate family functionality. Results: 54.8% are female children, 45.2% male. 30.6% of children are 3 years old, 25.8% of children are 4 years old and 22.6% of children are 2 years old. In the total test, 80.6% were normal and 19.4% were at risk. Regarding the coordination subtest, 89.5% were normal, 10.5% were at risk. Regarding the language subtest, 65.3% were normal, 27.4% were at risk and 7.3% were delayed. Regarding the motor subtest, 91.9% were normal and 8.1% were at risk. 9.7% have good family functioning, 33.1% mild dysfunction, 31.5% moderate dysfunction and 25.8% severe dysfunction. Conclusions: there is a significant relationship (p=0.001) between psychomotor development and family functionality in children aged 2 to 5 years attended in the CRED service of the Sureños Maternal and Child Center, Puente Piedra-2019.

Determinar la relación entre funcionalidad familiar y el desarrollo psicomotor en niños de 2 a 5 años atendidos en el servicio de CRED del Centro Materno Infantil Sureños, Puente Piedra-2019. Materiales y métodos: el enfoque es cuantitativo, el diseño es correlacional-transversal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 124 madres y niños que acuden al consultorio CRED del mencionado establecimiento. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron el TEPSI para evaluar el desarrollo psicomotor y el APGAR familiar para evaluar la funcionalidad familiar. Resultados: el 54,8% son niños del sexo femenino, masculino 45,2%. El 30,6% de niños son de 3 años, el 25,8% de niños son de 4 años y el 22,6% de niños son de 2 años. En el test total el 80,6% fueron normales y el 19,4% estuvieron en riesgo. En cuanto al subtest coordinación, el 89,5% fueron normales, el 10,5% estuvieron en riesgo. En cuanto al subtest lenguaje, el 65,3% fueron normales, el 27,4% estuvieron en riesgo y el 7,3% estuvo en retraso. En cuanto al subtest motricidad, el 91,9% fueron normales y el 8,1% estuvieron en riesgo. El 9,7% tiene buena funcionalidad familiar, el 33,1% disfunción leve, el 31,5% disfunción moderada y el 25,8% disfunción severa. Conclusiones: existe relación significativa (p=0,001) entre el desarrollo psicomotor y funcionalidad familiar en niños de 2 a 5 años atendidos en el servicio de CRED del Centro Materno Infantil Sureños, Puente Piedra-2019.
