Level of knowledge and practice on the management of polytraumatized patients by the nursing professional of the emergency service of an EsSalud hospital in Lima - 2023

Abstract

The objective of this study will be to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practice on the management of polytraumatized patients possessed by nurses in the emergency service of a Social Security hospital in Lima (Essalud). For this study, the quantitative approach, hypothetical deductive method, applied type, with a non-experimental design, correlational and cross-sectional level, was used. Work will be done with the entire population of 80 nursing graduates from the emergency area, for which 2 instruments were secured to be applied to each nurse; As the first instrument, it will be a questionnaire of 20 questions that will allow to evaluate the level of knowledge that consists of five dimensions: the airway and the cervical spine, ventilation, circulation and control of bleeding, neurological evaluation and exposure of the patient; then the observation guide will be reinforced to measure the practice comprised of 14 items. Regarding the statistical part, the SPSS version 25 program was ensured to process the information obtained. For the analysis of the proposed results, the descriptive data will be organized using tables that indicate the quantities and percentages, while Spearman's Rho coefficient will be applied to develop the inferential analysis.

El presente estudio tendrá como objetivo determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y práctica sobre el manejo del paciente politraumatizado que poseen las enfermeras del servicio de emergencia de un hospital del Seguro Social de Lima (Essalud). Para este estudio se utilizará el enfoque cuantitativo, método hipotético deductivo, tipo aplicada, con un diseño no experimental, de nivel correlacional y transversal. Se trabajará con toda la población de 80 licenciados de enfermería del área de emergencia, para lo cual se utilizará 2 instrumentos para ser aplicados a cada enfermera; como primer instrumento será un cuestionario de 20 preguntas que permitirá evaluar el nivel de conocimiento que consta de cinco dimensiones: la vía aérea y estabilización de la columna cervical, ventilación, circulación y control de la hemorragia, evaluación neurológica y exposición del paciente; luego se utilizará la guía de observación para medir la práctica comprendido por 14 ítems. En cuanto a la parte estadística, se utilizará el programa SPSS versión 25 para procesar la información obtenida. Para el análisis de resultados planteados se organizarán los datos descriptivos mediante tablas que señalen las cantidades y porcentajes, mientras que el coeficiente Rho de Spearman se aplicara para desarrollar el análisis inferencial.
