Knowledge and practice of biosecurity in the intensive care unit of a public hospital in Lima, 2023

Abstract

The objective of this research work is to determine the relationship between knowledge and biosafety practice in the intensive care unit of a public hospital in Lima, 2023. The study is hypothetical deductive type, descriptive level with non-experimental design, cross-sectional and quantitative approach. The population is made up of 50 Nursing workers who work in the Intensive Care Unit service. In this regard, there is a small population, so a sample is assumed that is confirmed by 50 nursing workers. The technique used was the survey and the instrument that was applied was the questionnaire prepared by Gonzales C. in 2016, which was validated by an expert judgment and with a high reliability of Cronbach's Alpha, the knowledge variable is composed of 3 dimensions and comprised of 12 items also with the practical variable, with Likert-type responses. The statistical processing will be descriptive to measure the behavior of the data.

El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo determinar la relación entre el conocimiento y la práctica de bioseguridad de la unidad de cuidados intensivos de un hospital público de Lima, 2023. El estudio es de tipo hipotético deductivo, nivel descriptivo con diseño no experimental, de corte transversal y enfoque cuantitativo. La población está constituida por 50 trabajadores de Enfermería que laboran en el servicio de Unidad de cuidados intensivos. Al respecto se tiene una población pequeña, por lo que se asume una muestra que está confirmada por 50 trabajadores de enfermería. La técnica utilizada fue la encuesta y el instrumento que se aplicó fue el cuestionario elaborado por Gonzales C. en el año 2016, que fue validado por un juicio de expertos y con una confiabilidad alta de Alfa de Cronbach, la variable conocimiento está compuesto por 3 dimensiones y comprendido por 12 ítems igualmente con la variable práctica, con respuestas de tipo Likert. El procesamiento estadístico será descriptivo para medir el comportamiento de los datos.
