Adherence to treatment with micronutrients and the level of iron deficiency anemia in children aged 6-36 months at the Cruce de Shumba Jaén Health Center - 2022

Abstract

Introduction: Introduction: Anemia is a public health problem that affects the population in a situation of vulnerability, especially children between 6 and 36 months of age; This problem has serious implications for cognitive, emotional, and physical development. in addition, to impact the social and economic development of a country. Objective: To determine the relationship between adherence to treatment with micronutrients and the level of iron deficiency anemia in children between 6 and 36 months of age who attend the Cruce de Shumba Health Center in the city of Jaén. Materials and methods: quantitative approach study, non-experimental design, correlational type, will use the hypothetical deductive method. The sample will be made up of 82 children cared for in the strategy. For data collection, a triangulation of sources and instruments will be used. In the case of the variable: Adherence to treatment with micronutrients, a questionnaire structured in two parts will be used: General data of the child and the mother and specific information on treatment with micronutrients based on the instrument of the nursing graduate Senaida Sedano Izurraga the year 2018. In the case of the second variable, a record sheet of the hemoglobin value will be used. The data will be processed using the statistical program SPSS V27, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results. The findings will be presented in simple or contingency tables and will be discussed in light of the theoretical framework. Conclusions: they will be elaborated based on the objectives and hypotheses.

La anemia es un problema de salud pública, que afecta a la población en situación de vulnerabilidad, en especial a los niños que se encuentran entre los 6 a 36 meses; este problema tiene serias implicancias en el desarrollo cognitivo, emocional y físico; además, de impactar en el desarrollo social y económico de un país. Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre la adherencia al tratamiento con micronutrientes y el nivel de anemia ferropénica en niños entre 6 a 36 meses que acuden al Centro de Salud Cruce de Shumba de la ciudad de Jaén. Materiales y métodos: estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, tipo correlacional, utilizará el método hipotético deductivo. La muestra estará conformada por 82 niños atendidos en la estrategia. Para la recolección de datos, se utilizará una triangulación de fuentes ye instrumentos. En el caso de la variable: Adherencia al tratamiento con micronutrientes se utilizará un cuestionario estructurado en dos partes: Datos generales del niño y la madre y la información específica sobre tratamiento con micronutrientes basado en el test de Morisky-Green y Levine. En el caso de la segunda variable, se utilizará una ficha de registro del valor de la hemoglobina. Los datos serán procesados utilizando el programa estadístico SPSS V27, y analizados utilizando la estadística descriptiva e inferencial. Resultados. Los hallazgos serán presentados en tablas simples y de contingencia y serán discutidos a la luz del marco teórico. Conclusiones: serán elaborados en base a los objetivos e hipótesis.
