Factors associated with peritonitis in patients with peritoneal dialysis

Abstract

Objective: Systematize the evidence on the factors associated with peritonitis in patients with peritoneal dialysis. Materials and Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review, consisting of 10 articles that synthesize the results of multiple primary investigations. They are an essential part of evidence-based nursing due to their rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions of clinical practice, the search has been restricted to articles with full text, and the selected articles were subjected to critical reading. using the grade system to assign the strength of recommendation. Results: In the final selection of 10 articles, we found that 30% correspond to China, and 10% (01) Colombia, Turkey, Ukraine, Istanbul, Brazil, Spain and Australia They have been studied in mostly Cohort studies at 60%, mainly in the countries of China(03), Colombia, Spain and Ukraine; and 30% Cases and controls belonging to Türkiye, Taiwan and Australia; finally 10% cross-sectional study corresponding to Brazil. Where of the total number of articles analyzed, 50% affirm that hypoalbuminemia is a factor associated with peritonitis in patients with peritoneal dialysis. Conclusions: It was evident in the reviewed research that hypoalbuminemia, advanced age and treatment time are the factors associated with peritonitis in peritoneal dialysis.

Objetivo:Sistematizar las evidencias sobre los factores asociados a peritonitis en pacientes con diálisis peritoneal.Materiales y Métodos:Revisión Sistemática observacional y retrospectivo,está constituido por 10 artículos que sintetiza los resultados de múltiples investigaciones primarias. Son parte esencial de la enfermería basada en la evidencia por su rigurosa metodología, identificando los estudios relevantes para responder preguntas específicas de la práctica clínica, la búsqueda se ha restringido a artículos con texto completo, y los artículos seleccionados se sometieron a una lectura crítica,utilizando el sistema grade para asignar la fuerza de recomendación.Resultados: En la selección definitiva de 10 artículos, encontramos que el 30% corresponden a China, y un 10% (01) Colombia, Turquía, Ucrania, Estambul, Brasil, España y Australia.Se han estudiado en su mayoría estudios de Cohorte en un 60%, principalmente en países de China(03), Colombia, España y Ucrania; y un 30% Casos y controles pertenecientes a Turquía, Taiwán y Australia;finalmente 10% estudio trasversal que corresponde a Brasil. Donde del total de artículos analizados el 50% afirma que la hipoalbuminemia es un factor asociado a peritonitis en pacientes con diálisis peritoneal.Conclusiones:Se evidenció en las investigaciones revisadas que la hipoalbuminemia, la edad avanzada y el tiempo de tratamiento son los factores asociados a peritonitis en diálisis peritoneal.
