Self-care and quality of life of patients with chronic kidney disease treated at a clinic in Lima 2023

Abstract

Introduction: The concept of quality of life refers to measures that take into account physical, psychological and social factors that people interpret as having an impact on their ability to feel satisfied, happy and rewarded. Self-care interventions are one of the new strategies to improve the health and well-being of both the people who use them and the health systems. Objective: To determine, in patients with chronic kidney disease treated at a clinic in Lima, the relationship between quality of life and self-care. Methods: A study with a hypothetical-deductive, quantitative approach applied to an applied type of research with a cross-sectional, observational and non-experimental design, with a sample of 35 patients. The survey will be used as a technique to apply two previously validated questionnaires and with the necessary reliability to measure the study variables. The collected data will be processed in the SPSS version 25 statistical program and the hypotheses will be tested using the statistical test according to the results obtained by the Shapiro-Wilk test that will determine if the related data is probabilistic or non-probabilistic.

Introducción: El concepto de calidad de vida se refiere a medidas que toman en cuenta factores físicos, psicológicos y sociales que las personas interpretan que tienen un impacto en su capacidad de sentirse satisfechos, felices y recompensados. Las intervenciones de autocuidado son una de las nuevas estrategias para mejorar la salud y el bienestar tanto de las personas que las utilizan como de los sistemas de salud. Objetivo: Determinar, en los pacientes con enfermedad renal crónica atendidos en una clínica de Lima, la relación entre la calidad de vida y autocuidado. Métodos: Estudio con enfoque hipotético-deductivo, cuantitativo aplicado a una investigación de tipo aplicado de diseño trasversal, observacional y no experimental, con una muestra constituida por 35 pacientes. Se usará como técnica la encuesta para aplicar dos cuestionarios validados previamente y con la confiabilidad necesaria para medir las variables del estudio. Los datos recolectados serán procesados en el programa estadístico SPSS versión 25 y las hipótesis se probarán usando la prueba estadística según los resultados obtenidos por la proba de Shapiro-Wilk que determinará si los datos relacionados son de tipo probabilístico o no probabilístico
