Knowledge and practice of the nursing professional on the importance of mother-child skin-to-skin contact in the Neonatology Service at a MINSA Hospital, 2023

Abstract

The general objective of this research is to determine how the nursing professional's knowledge and practice are related to the importance of skin-to-skin mother-child contact in the Neonatology Service of a MINSA Hospital, 2023. Materials and Methods: research with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, correlational and cross-sectional level, respectively. Population of 80 nursing professionals of the neonatology service. Application of a questionnaire and a checklist as instruments. The instrument that will measure "knowledge" will be subjected to a pilot test applied to 10 nurses with similar characteristics to the study population, where a reliability of 0.81 according to Kuder Richardson will be determined. On the other hand, the instrument that will measure "practices" will also be subjected to a pilot test, where 10 nurses were participants, determining a reliability of 0.786 according to Kuder Richardson, concluding that both instruments are reliable. Both instruments were validated by the work done in Peru by Chuquimbalque (2022). The data will be edited with the SPSS application version 26.0. and frequency tables and graphs will be used to analyze and interpret the data, the normality test will be used as a first step to determine the relationship between the two variables, followed by an inferential test using Spearman's Rho statistic to obtain the correlation coefficient.

La presente investigación se ha propuesto como Objetivo general: Determinar cómo se relacionan el conocimiento y la práctica del profesional de enfermería sobre la importancia del contacto piel a piel madre-hijo en el Servicio de Neonatología en un Hospital del MINSA, 2023. Materiales y Métodos: investigación con un enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, nivel correlacional y transversal, respectivamente. Población de 80 profesionales de enfermería del servicio de neonatología. Aplicación de un cuestionario y una lista de cotejo como instrumentos. El instrumento que medirá “los conocimientos” será sometido a una prueba piloto aplicada a 10 enfermeras con características similares a la población de estudio, en donde se determinará una fiabilidad de 0.81 según Kuder Richardson. Por otra parte, el instrumento que medirá “las prácticas” también será sometido a una prueba piloto, en donde 10 enfermeras fueron participantes, determinando una fiabilidad de 0.786 según Kuder Richardson, concluyendo que ambos instrumentos son confiables. Ambos instrumentos validados por el trabajo realizado en Perú de Chuquimbalque (2022). Los datos serán editados con la aplicación SPSS versión 26.0. y para analizar e interpretar los datos se utilizan tablas de frecuencias y gráficos, se utilizará la prueba de normalidad como primer paso para determinar la relación entre las dos variables, seguida de una prueba inferencial mediante el estadístico Rho de Spearman para obtener el coeficiente de correlación
