Culture of patient safety and attitude towards the recording of adverse events in nurses of the intensive care unit of an Essalud hospital, Callao - 2023

Abstract

Objective: To establish how the culture of patient safety is related to the attitude towards of adverse events in nurses who work in the intensive care unit. Materials and methods: The study is presented with a quantitative approach, of nonexperimental design with the participation of 60 nursing professionals to whom the survey technique will be applied based on the use of two questionnaires. The first patient safety culture instrument comprises 42 items. The second instrument of attitude towards the registration of adverse events is a Likert scale of attitude towards the reporting of adverse events that proposes 20 items and consists of 3 dimensions divided into: cognitive, behavioral and affective components. Both instruments are validated. After data collection, descriptive statistical analysis will be carried out using tables and graphs, in the case of inferential statistics, Spearman's Rho will be applied to test the hypotheses.

Objetivo: Establecer de qué manera se relaciona la cultura de seguridad del paciente y actitud hacia el registro de eventos adversos en los enfermeros que laboran en la unidad de cuidados intensivos. Materiales y métodos: El estudio se presenta con un enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental con la participación de 60 profesionales de enfermería a quienes se les aplicará la técnica de la encuesta a partir del uso de dos cuestionarios. El primer instrumento de cultura de seguridad del paciente comprende 42 ítems. El segundo instrumento de la actitud hacia el registro de eventos adversos es una escala de Likert de la actitud hacia el reporte de eventos adversos que propone 20 ítems y consta de 3 dimensiones divididos en: componentes cognitivos, conductuales y afectivos. Los dos instrumentos se encuentran validados. Luego de la recolección de datos se procederá con el análisis estadístico descriptivo mediante tablas y gráficos, en el caso de la estadística inferencial, se aplicará el Rho de Spearman para comprobar las hipótesis
