Pain management and quality of life in patients with breast cancer of the palliative medicine service of the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases - 2023

Abstract

This research project will have as General Objective: Determine the relationship between Pain Management and Quality of Life of patients with Breast Cancer. The Study Population will be made up of 100 patients with breast cancer treated at the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases in Palliative Medicine and Pain Treatment, 2023. The Study Method used will be hypothetical-deductive of the applied type with an observational, correlational design, descriptive and transversal. For Data Collection, the survey technique will be used; as instruments of the first variable "Pain Management Questionnaire", for which the Liker scale modified by Josefina Flores Morales will be used with an assessment of 83% and a reliability of 0.735, and for the second variable “quality of life questionnaire" designed by Choque Crispín Elena Marisela, in which the Liker scale will also be used for its qualification, the instrument received a binary evaluation by experts, who deemed it valid, and obtained a reliability of 0.87 on the internal consistency index Cronbach's Alpha, indicating that the instrument is reliable. Relevant statistical tests will be applied to confirm the hypotheses. The data obtained in the study will be Processed and Analyzed using the latest version of the SSPS Statistic program, and Microsoft Excel software will be used for the presentation of statistical tables in which it will be measured with Rho Sepearman.

El presente proyecto de investigación tendrá como objetivo general: Determinar la relación existente entre el Manejo del Dolor y Calidad de Vida de las pacientes con Cáncer de Mama. La población objeto de estudio estará conformada por 100 pacientes con cáncer de mama atendidos en el Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas en Medicina Paliativa y Tratamiento del Dolor, 2023. El método de estudio empleado será hipotético-deductivo de tipo aplicada con un diseño observacional, correlacional, descriptivo y transversal. Para la recopilación de los datos se utilizará como técnica encuesta; como instrumentos de la primera variable “Cuestionario de Manejo del Dolor”, por lo cual se utilizará la escala de Liker modificada por Flores Morales Josefina con una valoración de 83% y una confiabilidad de 0.735, y para la segunda variable “cuestionario de calidad de vida” diseñado por Choque Crispín Elena Marisela, en la que a su vez también se utilizará la escala de Liker para su calificación, los expertos evaluaron el instrumento utilizando una escala binomial y lo consideraron válido. Además, se obtuvo una confiabilidad del 0.87 en el índice de consistencia interna Alfa de Cronbach, lo que demuestra que el instrumento es confiable.
