Emotional intelligence and work stress in the nursing staff of the Barton Hospital, Lima 2022

Abstract

For the elaboration of the present investigation, the general objective was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and work stress in the nursing staff of the Barton Hospital, Lima 2022, for which a hypothetical deductive method was used, a type of investigation applied and a non-experimental design with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of a total of 110 nurses who belong to the Barton Hospital. The survey technique was used and as an instrument for collecting information two questionnaires that were intended to evaluate the variables of emotional intelligence and work stress. The main results showed a Spearman's Rho coefficient of -.679; as well as a significance with a value of p=<0.05. It was concluded that there is a medium, negative and considerable relationship between emotional intelligence and work stress in the nursing staff of the Barton Hospital.

Para la elaboración de la presente investigación se tuvo como objetivo general determinar cuál es la relación entre la inteligencia emocional y el estrés laboral en el personal de enfermería del Hospital Barton, Lima 2022 para lo cual se utilizó un método hipotético deductivo, un tipo de investigación básico y un diseño no experimental con un enfoque cuantitativo. La muestra estuvo conformada por una totalidad de 110 enfermeros que pertenecían al Hospital Barton. Se utilizaron como instrumento de recolección de información dos cuestionarios que tenían por fin evaluar las variables de inteligencia emocional y estrés laboral. Los principales resultados arrojaron un coeficiente -,679; así como también una significancia con una valoración de p=<0.05. Se concluyó que existe una relación media, negativa y considerable entre la inteligencia emocional y el estrés laboral en el personal de enfermería del Hospital Barton.
