In adults, the most significant disability is lower back pain, which often leads to a series of disorders such as postural changes, physical-functional limitations, and emotional and social issues, affecting the quality of life and reducing biopsychosocial capabilities. Objective: To determine the relationship between lumbar disability and hamstring flexibility in patients at a health center in Lima during 2022. An observational, correlational, and cross-sectional study was conducted. The sample consisted of 90 patients from a health center. The instruments used were the Oswestry Disability Index and the hamstring flexibility test. A higher number of females were found in the sample. The results showed a statistically significant relationship between functional disability and hamstring flexibility (p=0.000).
Resumen
En el adulto la incapacidad más importante es el dolor lumbar, por lo que en muchas ocasiones desencadena una serie de trastornos como alteraciones posturales, limitaciones físicas- funcionales, emocionales y sociales; obteniendo consecuencias afectando la calidad de vida y disminuyendo sus capacidades biopsicosociales. El objetivo del presente estudio fue determinar la relación entre el grado de incapacidad lumbar y la flexibilidad de los isquiotibiales en pacientes de un centro de salud de Lima, durante el 2022. Se realizó un estudio observacional, correlacional y de corte transversal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 90 pacientes de un Centro de Salud. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron: el índice de Oswestry y el test de flexibilidad de los isquiotibiales. Se encontró mayor cantidad de personas del sexo femenino. Los resultados evidenciaron que existe relación estadísticamente significativa entre la incapacidad funcional y la flexibilidad de los isquiotibiales (p=0,000)
