Coping strategies and quality of life in the oncological patient of the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases in the period January to March 2021

Abstract

This study aims to identify the different coping strategies in relation to the quality of life of cancer patients hospitalized at the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases. The general problem is: What is the relationship between coping strategies and quality of life in cancer patients at the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases during the period from January to March 2021? The objective is: "To determine the relationship between coping strategies and quality of life in oncology patients." The research has a non-experimental, deductive design, with a quantitative approach, a correlational scope, and a cross-sectional non-experimental design. The sample will consist of 66 patients, and the evaluation will be conducted using the Stress Coping Questionnaire for oncology patients and the quality of life questionnaire.

El presente estudio busca identificar las diferentes estrategias de afrontamiento en relación a la calidad de vida del paciente con cáncer hospitalizados en el Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas, siendo el problema general, ¿Cuál es la relación entre las estrategias de afrontamiento y calidad de vida en el paciente oncológico del Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas en el periodo Enero a Marzo 2021?, y teniendo como objetivo: “Determinar la relación entre las estrategias de afrontamiento y calidad de vida en el paciente oncológico”. La investigación tiene un diseño de investigación no experimental, deductivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo, de alcance correlacional y de diseño no experimental de corte transversal. La muestra estará conformada por 66 pacientes y la evaluación se realizará a través del Cuestionario de Afrontamiento al Estrés para pacientes oncológicos y el cuestionario sobre calidad de vida.
