Morphological alterations" of the lymphoid series in relation to the degree of severity of covid-19, in patients over 60 years of age, attended at the Laura Esther Rodríguez Dulanto Hospital in Supe Lima, period August - December 2020

Abstract

Morphological alterations in the lymphoid series are associated with several factors and foreign agents, such as insecticides, bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses. Among the foreign agents mentioned, the most damaging is the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which directly infects the epithelial endothelium of type II pneumocytes in the lungs. There are international and national studies that show how patients with severe illness compared to those with mild illness present a significantly lower lymphocyte count; in severe cases, this is at the expense of CD4+ lymphocytes, CD8+ lymphocytes, and B lymphocytes (CD19+). This essentially reflects lymphopenia caused by the cells responsible for humoral and cytotoxic immunity. This research project will employ a hypothetical inductive method, with a quantitative and applied approach. The experimental design will be observational with a cross-sectional measurement. The aim of this research is to study the "Morphological Alterations" of the Lymphoid Series in relation to the severity of COVID-19 in patients over 60 years old treated at the Laura Esther Rodríguez Dulanto Hospital in Supe - Lima, from August to December 2020. The population will consist of 219 epidemiological records of patients with a positive COVID-19 diagnosis. Data will be collected using the SIS COVID-19 program, laboratory reports such as peripheral blood smear results, antigen tests, medical records from the database, and molecular test results.

Las alteraciones morfológicas de la serie linfoide, están asociadas a varios factores y agentes extraños, así como insecticidas, bacterias, hongos, parásitos y virus; de todos los agentes extraños mencionados por orden de patogenicidad, el mayor daño lo causa el virus denominado SARS-CoV_2, al infectar directamente el endotelio epitelial de los neumocitos tipo II del pulmón; Hay estudios internacionales y nacionales que demuestran: como los pacientes al ser comparados con enfermedad grave y con enfermedad leve presentan un conteo de linfocitos mucho menor; en el caso de los graves a expensas de linfocito CD4+, linfocitos CD8 + y linfocitos B, CD19+, aquí básicamente la linfopenia se está presentando a expensas de las células que están encargadas de la inmunidad humoral y de la inmunidad citotóxica. El proyecto de investigación utilizará el método hipotético inductivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo y aplicativo. El diseño experimental será observacional de medición transversal. EL objetivo de esta investigación tendrá como propósito investigar las “Alteraciones morfológicas” de la Serie Linfoide en relación al grado de severidad de Covid-19, en pacientes mayores de 60 años atendidos en el Hospital Laura Esther Rodríguez Dulanto Supe - Lima, periodo agosto –diciembre 2020. La población estará conformada por 219 fichas epidemiológicas con diagnóstico positivo de Covid-19. Para la recolección de datos se utilizará el programa SIS Covid – 19, reportes del laboratorio como resultados de lámina periférica, pruebas antigénicas, e historias clínicas de la base de datos y resultados de las pruebas moleculares.
