Knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding and practice in mothers of hospitalized neonates at the Lima hospital neonatology service, 2023

Abstract

The objective of this research project is to determine the relationship between knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding and practice in mothers of neonates hospitalized in the neonatology service at Hospital de Lima 2023. The research design is correlational, quantitative, and cross-sectional. The population was made up of 100 mothers of newborns, obtaining a sample of 87. The technique to be used will be the survey and observation. As an instrument, the knowledge questionnaire about exclusive breastfeeding, which consists of 15 items, and the breastfeeding practice observation guide, which consists of 15 items, were applied. The data obtained will be emptied into an Excel program and then imported by the SPSS V. 24 statistical program, which will process the information through tables and graphs that will finally be interpreted for the results.

El presente proyecto de investigación, tiene como objetivo determinar la relación entre conocimiento sobre la lactancia materna exclusiva y practica en madres de neonatos hospitalizados del servicio de neonatología Hospital de Lima 2023. El diseño de investigación es de tipo correlacional, de enfoque cuantitativo, de corte transversal. La población estuvo conformada por 100 madres de neonatos, obteniendo una muestra de 87. La técnica a emplear será la encuesta y la observación. Como instrumento se aplicó el cuestionario de conocimientos sobre la lactancia materna exclusiva, que consta de 15 ítems, y la guía de observación de práctica de lactancia materna, que consta de 15 ítems. Los datos obtenidos serán vaciados en programa de Excel para luego ser importados por el programa estadístico SPSS V. 24 el cual procesará la información mediante tablas y gráficos que finalmente serán interpretados para los resultados.
