Level of knowledge and practices of biosafety measures in the nursing staff in the emergency service of the Hipólito Unanue National Hospital, Lima - 2021

Abstract

The World Health Organization defines biosecurity as a set of standards and preventive measures to protect people's health from biological, chemical, physical, radioactive agents, among others, during the exercise of their duties, and extends it to patients and the environment. Biosecurity must be understood as a behavioral doctrine in order to achieve responsible attitudes and behaviors that aim to reduce the level of risk of health workers in the face of various agents. Knowledge is the set of ideas and concepts that a person acquires through experience and in a rational way. In Peru, the level of knowledge of nursing staff about biosecurity measures and their practice is currently completely unknown. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the practice of biosecurity measures in nursing staff in the emergency service of the Hipólito Unanue National Hospital, Lima - 2021 Methodology: A quantitative research study will be carried out, with a descriptive correlational cross-sectional design. The sample of nursing professionals will be 56, the type of sampling used will be simple random probabilistic. The technique that will be used to measure the study variables will be the questionnaire and observation. The questionnaire guide will be self-administered where its dimensions are; basic aspects of biosecurity, protection barriers and waste disposal; the checklist has as dimensions; hand washing, protection barrier and management of disposal of biocontaminated material and waste that will be applied by the researcher. The data obtained will be tabulated and statistically processed, applying the statistical package SPSS 22, and Excel.

La Organización Mundial de la Salud define la bioseguridad como un conjunto de normas y medidas preventivas con el fin de proteger la salud de las personas frente a los agentes biológicos, químicos, físicos, radioactivos, entre otros durante el ejercicio de sus funciones y hace extensible a los pacientes y al medio ambiente. la bioseguridad debe comprenderse como una doctrina de comportamiento con el fin de lograr actitudes y conductas responsables que tiene por objeto la disminución del nivel de riesgo del trabajador de salud frentes a los diversos agentes. El conocimiento es el conjunto de ideas, conceptos que la persona adquiere por la experiencia y de forma racional. en el Perú en la actualidad se desconoce completamente el nivel de conocimiento del personal de enfermería sobre medidas de bioseguridad y su práctica. Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre el nivel de conocimiento y la práctica de las medidas de bioseguridad en el personal de enfermería en el servicio de emergencia del Hospital Nacional Hipólito Unanue, Lima – 2021 Metodología: se realizará un estudio de investigación de enfoque cuantitativo, diseño descriptivo correlacional de corte transversal. la muestra de los Enfermería será 56, el tipo de muestreo usado será probabilístico aleatorio simple. la técnica que se utilizará para medir las variables de estudio será el cuestionario y la observación. la guía de cuestionario será auto administrada donde sus dimensiones son; aspectos básicos de bioseguridad, barreras de protección y eliminación de residuos; la lista de cotejos tiene como dimensiones; lavado de manos, barrera de protección y manejo de eliminación de material biocontaminado y residuos que será aplicada por el investigador. Los datos obtenidos serán tabulados y procesados estadísticamente, aplicando el paquete estadístico SPSS 22, y Excel.
