Coping with stress and quality of life of the patient with chemotherapy in a hospital in Lima, 2023

Abstract

Objective: “Establish the relationship between coping with stress and the quality of life of patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment in a Hospital in Lima in the year 2023.” Population: The research population will be made up of 120 patients diagnosed with cancer who attend outpatient chemotherapy treatment during the month of September 2023. Sample: It will be made up of 92 patients, non-probabilistic sampling will be used. Methodological design: An applied research, hypothetical-deductive, observational, descriptive, correlational and transversal method will be used. Instruments: To evaluate the variable "coping with stress", the questionnaire developed by Linares in 2017, reliable with Cronbach's Alpha of 0.804, will be used and to evaluate the variable "quality of life", a modified and adapted questionnaire will be used by Martínez in 2016, with Cronbach's Alpha reliability 0.80. The technique to collect the information will be the survey. Data processing and analysis: To carry out the analysis, statistical tools will be used that will enable the preparation of frequency tables and graphs, as well as the testing of the hypotheses raised in the research.

Objetivo: “Establecer la relación del afrontamiento del estrés y la calidad de vida de los pacientes que se encuentran en tratamiento de quimioterapia en un Hospital de Lima en el año 2023”. Población: La población de la investigación estará conformada por 120 pacientes con diagnóstico de cáncer que asisten al tratamiento de quimioterapia ambulatoria durante el mes de setiembre de 2023. Muestra: Estará conformado por 92 pacientes, se empleará un muestreo no probabilístico. Diseño metodológico: Se usará una investigación de tipo aplicada, método hipotético- deductivo, observacional, descriptivo, correlacional y trasversal. Instrumentos: Para evaluar de la variable “afrontamiento al estrés”, se utilizará el cuestionario elaborado por Linares en el 2017, confiable con Alfa de Cronbach de 0,804 y para evaluar de la variable “calidad de vida”, se usará un cuestionario modificado y adaptado por Martínez en el 2016, con confiabilidad Alpha de Cronbach 0,80. La técnica para recolectar la información será la encuesta. Procesamiento y análisis de datos: Para llevar a cabo el análisis se utilizarán herramientas estadísticas que facultará la elaboración de tablas frecuencia y gráficas, así como la prueba de las hipótesis planteadas en la pesquisa.
